"The team from Timberland was very professional, doing a phenomenal job of trimming the trees and leaving them in much better shape. They cleaned up the job as they went, and left my lawn spotless. They used all the appropriate safety equipment, and removed several large limbs in segments so that the falling debris did not damage the lawn. The crew chipped the branches and debris, and raked the lawn before they left. I will use them again for any of my tree maintenance needs."

"My husband and I highly recommend Roger King, aka, The Handy Man, for ANY of your home improvement needs! Roger was a God send when we had issues with our Florida home due to water damage in our kitchen and master bath. Once the mitigation was done and pipes were fixed, Roger came to our rescue and restored and remodeled our home. He replaced the drywall in the kitchen, bath, and garage. Took out a fireplace which we never used to make a nook for our stove and cabinets which he ordered and installed from a picture in a catalog! He ordered the cabinets, counters, kitchen island and hardware. The cabinets are beautiful and I no longer have blind cabinets that I can’t use. Roger also did electrical work in the kitchen by relocating outlets, light switches and the stove outlet. The deeper the tree has been ground under the soil, the longer it will take to settle. However, this extra depth can help you plant new landscaping sooner because you’ll have more space for fresh soil.

Slab foundations are more affordable than crawl spaces because they require minimal excavation, as the slab sits directly on the ground or on footers that only sink a few feet into the ground. Crawl spaces require excavation of the entire footprint of the home to several feet below the surface. Not only does that mean higher labor costs, but more materials are necessary for the concrete foundation walls.

The depth of a septic tank’s drain lines is between 18 and 36 inches underground. These pipes are filled with perforations and surrounded by sand, gravel, or a combination of both, as both materials help filter wastewater. While some pipes are buried closer to the surface, this can create problems unless the soil is compact and doesn’t shift much. 

Trenches are 12 to 24 inches deep and 8 inches wide. However, the right depth for your trench will depend on the nature of your project. For example, if you’re digging a trench as part of a French drain installation, it should be 18 inches deep. An excavation professional can explain how deep your trench should be.

Because decomposed granite is a durable material, a crushed rock or gravel base is optional as long as the DG is properly installed and compacted. However, installing a base is a good idea because it will ensure proper drainage and stability and act as a weed suppressant (although you may still occasionally have to pull weeds). Installing an adequate base can also increase the durability of driveways and walkways. If you forego the paver base or gravel underneath, line the area with landscaping fabric to avoid weeds.
