"I have used Stanley Handyman Services for several repairs. He has installed a sink/faucet, assembled a treadmill, built a lattice fence under my deck to prevent wildlife from living under it, and most recently did an emergency repair after storm damage to gutters/fascia/soffit. He is punctual, efficient, very detail oriented, cleans up the work area, and checks back to see how things are going. I will be using him for all my house projects in the future."

Tv Mount Install questions, answered by experts

You will be placing holes in the wall to hang the mounting bracket. If you’re mounting a large TV, the bolts in use could make significant holes around half an inch in diameter. Other than a few holes, though, the process of mounting the TV should not cause significant damage to the wall, unless you make an error and miss the wall stud, tearing out drywall. Should you decide to remove the mount later, the DIY drywall repair cost for a small hole usually is $10 to $30. It’s a repair you can do in a few minutes.

In most cases, you should not put a TV on a fireplace mantel. The minimum width required to put a TV safely on a shelf or mantel is 10 inches, but pre-made mantels are usually too shallow, averaging at only seven inches deep. If you do choose to place a TV above a mantel, it should be mounted to the wall. However, do so cautiously as heat radiating from the fireplace could potentially cause damage to electronics.

While it can be done, hanging a TV on a brick wall without drilling requires thoughtful care. Conditions of the wall, the weight of the TV, any items below the TV, and more must be taken into account. To effectively mount the TV would require specific tools to install, such as TV stands, clamps, and strong adhesives.

The shorter the coaxial cable, the better. The further you run the cable, the more signal loss you'll experience. At 50 feet, you'll see significant signal loss, and by 100 feet, you'll experience at least a 30% drop in signal strength.

The cost to have a TV professionally mounted typically ranges from $160 to $360, with a national average of about $260. This price is for labor and does not include the TV mount itself. Several factors can affect the final cost, including the size of the TV and the type of mount used; for example, a fireplace mount costs more than an under-cabinet one. If you want to hide the wires within the wall, the price can increase significantly, potentially to $1,000 or more. For an accurate estimate, it is best to contact a local TV mounting service.
