"Hard to imagine a smoother installation.  One worker who was incredibly industrious as well as courteous and neat removed the tub and the old shower and installed the new shower, walls, door, etc. skillfully and with very little inconvenience to us!

"Highly skilled, multi-talented. Able to think out the box and be creative and artistic. He was our angel after being hurricained. Three feet of water in the house. It took a while, replace floor tile, drywall, cleaning, painting, but we are now all back toether and reinforced for the next storm. We definetly will continue with small jobs. We highly recommend. Give him a call. Also, super nice guy. My doggie also liked him alot."

"Once I sent her all the measurements, it took her a little while to get the options back to me.  Overall, they're good designs.  However, they're very simplistic and give general ideas for space planning.  I was hoping to have a better idea for sizes of furniture for the space and some variations on staging.
Jill was very responsive when I did have a question.  I'm not sure how helpful it is to have a virtual design done.  If we lived in similar cities, I'd probably use her again for help with additional designs.

"We have a rather large kitchen and I changed my mind more times than i could count and this contractor accommodated all my revisions to include the color of paint I wanted. The contractor went above and beyond and this is why. He was all set to paint the initial color I had chosen and I came in and said could we switch colors. He went and purchased the color I wanted and painted the cabinets. So flexible and ready to accommodate his customers. Thank you Hawke's Re-Construction."

Ceramic Tile questions, answered by experts

Granite countertops cost an average of $3,250 compared to $2,250 for tile countertops. Granite is also harder to DIY than tile, given its weight and bulk, which increases the overall labor cost of installation. Over time, both types of countertops may need sealing to remain resistant to water, heat, and other common kitchen elements.

To ensure an even and unbending surface to lay tiles on, you’ll typically need to put a subfloor under a tile floor. Fiber cement backboards are the most common choice, but using plywood is also possible. Don’t neglect this step, or you could risk water damage and grout or tiles prematurely cracking or crumbling, especially in an area with high foot traffic.

Regrouting is cheaper than retiling, and it involves less work. Grout is available in a wide range of colors, making it a cost-effective way to improve the look of any tiled area in your home.

Ceramic tile can be slightly less expensive than porcelain pavers. You can find outdoor ceramic tile for as little as $1 per square foot, but high-end options tend to cost the same as porcelain.

Deciding between using a shower pan or tile will likely come down to the shower’s design. You can learn how to install a shower pan liner, but it has a standard look similar to most other showers, though there is some flexibility for material and color choices. Tile, on the other hand, can be customized and is set directly into the shower base. However, a shower tile floor is more difficult to install than a shower pan.
