Customers say: Quality work

"Fritz Construction completely gutted and repaired my home. Floors, ceilings, all electrical, all light fixtures, removal of gas heater...too much to list. He took a flood disaster and created a beautiful home from the rubble. I am forever grateful, and he will be a friend for life. He's fair, reasonable, patient, and more importantly, knowledgeable in all fields of home building."

"My dishwasher stopped one day, dead as a doornail, and Roy was the most considerate, affordable option to come check it out. I was prepared to accept it might be wiser to buy a new one, and he, thought it brought NO profit to him, helped me determine the best solution. He was friendly, helpful, and even spent extra time helping me pick which new dishwasher to order from NFM. He installed it forme when it was delivered (and even made friends with one of my cats). I can't recommend his service enough!"

"Brandon contacted me very quickly after I started a search for a water softener company on Angie's List. He gave me two water softener options and quotes and explained the differences between the two. That made it very easy for me to decide on the quote I wanted to accept. Brandon is both professional and friendly. He communicates quickly, his pricing is fair, and he got the job done efficiently. I highly recommend Rose Plumbing, and I'll call him the next time we need plumbing services."

Kitchen and Bathroom Remodel questions, answered by experts

The order of your bathroom renovation should prevent damage to the completed work. Start with demolition and removing the old fixtures. Then, address structural repairs or water damage, if needed. Next, tackle the rough-in phase for plumbing and electrical work, install waterproofing, and work on wall treatments like tile or paint. Install your shower or bathtub, toilet, vanity, and sink. Flooring goes in after major fixtures but before the toilet. Lastly, install new lighting fixtures, mirrors, and other finishing touches as desired.

Floating vanities are a good choice for small bathrooms because they can make the bathroom appear larger than it actually is. The downside is that, depending on the size, it may lack the storage of a traditional bathroom vanity. Alternatives for a vanity in a small bathroom include a pedestal sink or a corner vanity.

Before any physical work begins on a bathroom remodel, the first and most crucial step is planning. Start by developing your design ideas and deciding which fixtures and features you want to replace versus what you'd like to keep. Once you have a clear vision, you can begin sourcing and purchasing your new materials. For any project, it is also highly recommended to consult with a contractor to finalize the details and plan before starting the demolition phase.

Small bathroom renovation costs don’t have to break the bank. A $5,000 budget is realistic, provided you're not adding luxurious fittings or making complex layout changes. Changing the layout is the most costly aspect of renovating a bathroom. So if you keep the layout, do some of the job DIY (within your skillset), and use relatively affordable fixtures and accessories, you should be able to stay within your budget.

By code, the smallest a bathroom can be is 60 inches wide by 56 inches deep to be considered accessible. An area of 16 to 20 square feet is enough to accommodate a toilet and sink with sufficient clearance. Usually, a space that’s three or four feet by six to eight feet is big enough for a half bath to be added.
