"Allen was responsive right away via email and text message. He was on-time and/or early for estimate and on the work day. Bathroom and floor look incredible. He installed a product called enduroshield (sp?). It works as promised. Water beads right off of tile and grout, it's amazing to watch. "I was expecting good work, given the previous reviews, but this blew me away!  Hal has an attention to detail that is truly not seen in this day and age.  He rounded the edges of every board used in the fence.  The spacing between boards were all customized so that every section looked perfect. He created a deck that captured the style of the house, and also created a seamless transition between the decks on either side.  The arbors are lovely.  He talked me out of a few things and came up with better solutions that I love. He also listened to my ideas and went with them when they made sense.
The guy is a craftsman!  Little things matter:  perfect beveled corners on the deck.  A birdhouse needed to be re-located as part of the project.  Hal noticed that the birds were still nesting in it, so worked around it and came back to relocate it when it was safe.  Then, without my asking, he fixed the birdhouse so that it would be easier for me to clean it.
I've had many, many glowing comments from friends, neighbors, and family.  People I know who do carpentry for a living were also very impressed by his work.
Things you should know:  This is not a big operation.  It's Hal plus a helper or two.  You need to be flexible on starting dates, and it may take longer to finish than you think it will.  Hal cuts all the boards in his shop before assembly on site - he really does.  If it seems like the project should be starting and you don't know why he's not on site, that's why.  The finished product is totally worth the wait.

"After getting a bid from Cady this summer, I hired them to do some work on my house (clean gutters, install gutter covers I'd purchased and fix a piece of siding). They agreed to do the work on September 10 at 1:00 p.m. They didn't show, and they didn't return my calls over the next couple of days. I felt they wasted my time. I gave them an F rating here and moved on to look for other handyman companies. Except that finding another company turned out to be easier said than done (the ones I contacted didn't serve my area or didn't want to do work on a 2-story house or were booked for months). "We have been very impressed with the provider.  He is an excellent communicator and has kept us updated on when the work would be done.  Once scheduled, the work in our laundry room was completed very quickly.  We were not 100% sure on what exactly would look best for our room and the provider was very patient and diligent when helping us determine dimensions for the counter top and the walls.  The provider did a great job matching the paint to the rest of the laundry room and ensuring that the overall "look" was consistent with the cabinetry we had installed ourselves.

It took 90 minutes to do the electrical work and about 4 hours to complete the counter top.  The provider worked very cleanly and was respectful to our home.

"Had Greene Construction install egress window in basement. Estimator was very knowledgeable and took the time to explain every option and detail. Installers were professional. They answered all my questions and made some alterations to where the extra dirt was put and provided extra tarps to cover the dirt in case of rain. The bid is /very good/, so if I opt for shingling I will probably hire him. But I'm a bit baffled at his refusal to give me a bid for metal roofing, as I believe he has installed it in the past."
