"Exactly as the same as the first time I air sealed my attic in my previous house. Last year when we decided to sell our house I was inspecting my house as I would have if I was purchasing it. I noticed a small (1/4") gap between the master bathroom vent fan grill and the ceiling. I could not adjust it. Upon further inspection I realize it was because the foam that was installed when my attic was air sealed had expanded creating the 1/4" gap. I had that work done two years prior by Houle Insulation. I contacted Arne and inquired if he had any suggestions. His only suggestion was that he would correct the problem. Two days later he had two workers in my attic correcting the issue. Just like the first time, they were prompt and cleaned up after the work. I offered to pay, he would not have it. He said he should have noticed when the job was originally completed two years prior. There was no discussion or haggling, he simply said he would correct it. As impressed as I was with the lower energy bill, I was more impressed with how he and his team comported themselves. Also my house was more comfortable because the temperature was more uniform within my house. This year when we moved into our new house, built in 1992, the first thing I did was call Arne to air seal the attic. My choice of whom to hire for air sealing my attic was a no brainer, Houle Insulation. They also performed a blower door test. They also sent in all the information required for me to receive an energy rebate from my utility company. The best recommendation I can make is that when I decided to air seal our new home the first person I called was Arne. He made a wise decision to correct what needed with correcting without any questions. He did what should have been done, and therefore he got my repeat business and I was happy to give my business to him!"

"Paul bid our insulation job quickly and efficiently. He took before pictures and made recommendations so we could avoid ice dams in the future. We scheduled the job, he came on time, finished the work and took after pictures too. The cost exactly what was bid. Such a great experience. Also I goofed up the payment amount and they even handled that graciously. Will definitely hire again when we are ready to remodel our bathroom. Margaret and Franz R,"

"Aaron was so helpful from the get go. We had two other attic insulation companies assess our issues when we had mold and water damage along the outside joists of the house. He was very knowledgeable and through and got the the causes of the issue. eRoof cleared out the plugged up soffets, sealed them, put in the needed baffling, and brought the blown in insulation up to the new code. Aaron had connections and we were able to get very efficient peers of his to do the mold removal, dry wall replacement, and painting. I would highly recommend this company and Aaron in particular. He was available to answer questions and help me think through this complex project."

Drywall Insulation questions, answered by experts

Cracks, holes, water damage, and dents from heavy equipment often require repair.

Yes, taping inside corners is a critical step in the drywall installation process.  Properly taping inside corners is essential for achieving a professional look, and an installation that resists cracking and maintains its integrity over time. Taping the corners involves the application of a joint compound along the seam where two drywall pieces meet. This process provides reinforcement, conceals the seam, and prevents future gaps or cracks from developing.

Very little. One inch of water can stain walls, warp wood, and create a perfect environment for mold growth. One to two inches of water can do significant damage to drywall, insulation, and electrical systems. Anything over that is considered an extensive flood, often resulting in severe structural damage.

Yes, any parts of drywall that are wet or overly moist will need to be replaced. Drywall is intended to be dry (it’s in the name, after all.), as excess moisture can lead to mold and mildew and eventually corrode your home’s foundational building pieces. Do regular inspections in your home to make sure all your plumbing is intact and in good condition—this will go a long way toward preventing leaks.

Whether a drywall anchor can be reused depends on its material, type, and the method of removal. Plastic anchors, including expansion and self-drilling types, are generally designed for single use as they tend to break or deform upon removal. Metal anchors, such as toggle bolts, are more durable and may be reusable if they are not damaged during extraction. However, with toggle bolts, the toggle piece can fall into the wall cavity when the bolt is removed, making it difficult to retrieve. If an anchor is damaged during removal, for instance by having its head cut off, it cannot be reused regardless of the material.
