Snakes love yards where they can access pet food, insects, and rodents. They also like places with plenty of hiding spots, such as tall grasses, thick or overgrown shrubbery, pools of water, broken gutters, and boxes. Reducing clutter and debris on your property may help keep them from visiting.

They’re a nuisance, but silverfish aren’t nearly as dangerous as other pests like cockroaches, mice, termites or bed bugs. They don’t carry diseases that humans or pets can catch, and they don’t cause widespread destruction like termites or rats. Silverfish are small and find it very easy to get inside any exposed foodstuffs. Like weevils, you may find them in unprotected flour, cereal, grains, bread boxes, chip packages and more. They will happily nibble fabric and paper as well, so they can cause damage to furniture, clothing, books, bedding, curtains and other materials.

You should not squish a roach because it can spread disease, attract more roaches, and release allergens. Roaches feed on the bodies of dead roaches, making more of them come. Squashing an individual roach only kills that one, whereas boric acid powder or baking soda can kill an entire population because it travels back to the nest before dying.

Raccoons may sometimes leave a property on their own, but this is not guaranteed. For a persistent raccoon infestation, it is advisable to take measures for trapping and removal. After they have been removed, it is important to seal any potential entry points to prevent their return.
