"Horrible customer service and the product is only getting worse over time. I have ordered 16 shutters from them over 5 separate orders during the last two years. A recent order late last year came with parts missing and getting replacement parts was a hassle because I had to provide pictures. How do you provide pictures of missing parts? My most recent order arrived without the mounting strips and blocking strips being pre-drilled. I received the screws and screw covers but no holes for them. After multiple back and forth with "Angie" from customer service I was forwarded a poorly spelled response from their supplier stating "usually" they don't pre-drill holes. Usually? All of my other shutters over the last two years were pre-drilled. I was then told it was my fault because this order was a single panel shutter vs all my previous orders being dual shutters and I would have to pay to get replacement strips with pre-drilled holes in them. What does a single vs a dual shutter have to do with whether or not holes are drilled in hanging and blocking strips?"

From that day forward he has become a friend who we completely trust entering our cabin to do any project I throw at him. We work together as a team communicating by phone or text even sending photos along the way of ideas and projects in process and completion. He has such great ideas to share and he’s open minded to all mine. We are a great team!!! He’s so easy going and fun to work with and his pricing can’t be beat. We plan on having him replace our existing roof to metal next. I consider Pete as part of our family :) I can text or call him to stop by and check on our property if needed in case of a storm or even pest controlling. They don’t call him handyman Pete for nothing!!!"

Three acres of potatoes were the seed for the first Scheels store in 1902. Frederick A. Scheel, a German immigrant, used the $300 he earned from his first harvest of potatoes as a down payment on the first Scheels, a small hardware and general merchandise store in Sabin, MN. Scheels Hardware entered the Fargo/Moorhead community in the early 1930s. In the years following WWII, the company expanded by opening hardware stores in a number of communities up and down the Red River Valley. The store located on Broadway in downtown Fargo remained the focal point for the company until the opening of a new store in south Fargo in 1970. “Southside Scheels” existed as a full-line hardware and sporting goods store until 1994, when the operation was split upon the opening of a stand-alone sporting goods store. Scheels Home & Hardware expanded to fill the existing South University Drive location and remained there until moving to its current location on 13th Avenue South in 2006. Our current location is a 45,000 square foot store housing a unique collection of specialty shops under one roof. Fashion women’s apparel, home furnishings and décor, barbecue museum, and a café featuring housemade soups, sandwiches and drinks are but some of the unusual features which add a distinguished flavor to the broad selection of traditional products typically found in a hardware store.
