"It was excellent. They showed up on time, diagnosed the problem, provided solution and pricing, clean installation, and no issue with the installation after it's done. I'm very pleased. They were very courteous and wore PPE's"

"Fast, friendly, helpful. My main sewage line was backed up and not draining. The day I put in my project request Tony reached out about scheduling an appointment. Within 24 hours they had come out to the house, cleaned the roots from my main line, and water was draining again. Can't beat the price. Thanks team!"

"We used L&R for a very extensive renovation project to remove overgrown flower beds, reclaim portions of yard that the previous owners had turned into paths and terrace, remove trees, replace rotted steps and realign the irrigation system. They turned a badly neglected back yard into a beautiful oasis that looks clean and abounds with blooming plants and shrubs. Since we border a wetland, their plan called for animal-resistant foliage in an easy-to-maintain installation. Throughout the project their staff was exceptionally helpful, and took care to protect the areas not being renovated, and to clean the jobsite every night when they were done. We were very impressed with the design they presented; the work that they performed; and the diligence and hard work that their staff performed. We have used L&R for prior houses we've owned, and they continue to be an excellent company for all aspects of landscape design and implementation."

Storm Drain Installation questions, answered by experts

Depending on your design preferences, the storm door can match either the front door or the trim. If you want the storm door to blend into the frame, you can choose a storm door that matches your home’s trim. If you want to draw attention to the front door, choose a storm door that matches your front door.

No, a storm door should not replace a regular door. It lacks the durability, insulation, and security of a proper exterior door. Most storm doors have lightweight frames and minimal locking hardware, and they aren’t meant to stand alone. While they work well as a backup to your main entry door, relying on one as your only barrier would likely lead to drafts, higher energy bills, and safety concerns.

Homes need solid construction to survive a hurricane, including these parts:

  • A secure foundation at the right elevation for your home’s flood threat level

  • Hurricane straps to secure your home’s foundation

  • Waterproof basement sealant or rubberized sheeting that directs water away from the foundation

  • A strong, well-attached roof that’s firmly secured to the framing

  • Shutters or roll-down window protectors that you can close outside to prevent broken windows

  • A garage door bracing system to keep high winds from caving in or tearing off the door

  • Deadbolts to keep your exterior doors in place against wind pressure and floodwater

You do not have to purchase a storm door if you have a fiberglass door. Fiberglass doors offer numerous advantages, including durability and the ability to stand up to harsh conditions such as low or high temperatures. Fiberglass doors also have excellent insulation properties, so you don’t have to add on a storm door if you’re looking for better temperature regulation inside your home.

A screen door needs at least two hinges, though most have three or four hinges. The amount of hinges depends on the weight and size of the door. The heavier your door, the more hinges it will need for support. Exterior doors, which are sturdier than interior doors, have the most hinges.
