"We highly recommend Chuck Hecht to be your go to handyman. We needed to replace a rectangular, clear polycarbonate, window well cover. We contacted a number of stores in the area that dealt with windows...no luck. We contacted Chuck Hecht and he constructed (from scratch) a perfectly fitting, clear polycarbonate cover for the egress window well. In this same time period Chuck also devised a way to stabilize our breakfast table which is in the shape of an octagon. And he also replaced a faulty light switch. Prior to the above, we had trouble with a sliding pocket door which no one was able to fix. We contacted Chuck and he came up with a solution to the problem...no troubles with the door since he fixed it. We are very appreciative and want to thank Chuck for...Jobs Well Done."

"From the initial consultation to the final result, working with Michael’s Done Right Home Services Builders was a seamless and positive experience. Michael listened carefully to my needs and offered thoughtful suggestions that improved the design without compromising on my vision. The craftsmanship of the steps is outstanding—sturdy, beautifully finished, and clearly built to last. He and his son Zack built the steps beyond my expectations. I am so throughly impressed by the workmanship!! I will be definitely working with Michael on other future projects."

"Working with Trevor and his guys was AWESOME! He came out to our house, got the measurements, inquired about everything we were looking for in our new deck. He provided multiple options (Cedar, Composite, Combination of both types of materials) and provided his insights to help us make the best choice for us.  I got multiple bids for the job and his was by far the best. There was another builder who was trying to charge an additional $6,000 for the exact same deck. He completed the plans for us and stayed in email and phone contact with us the entire time.
He got the work underway a month before we were supposed to start, after checking in to make sure that was alright with us. Trevor and his guys did a wonderful job using a Herringbone pattern on the decking and really nice wood work for the railings and stairwell. They used routers to smooth the edges and added some nice detail. There isn't one thing we don't like about our new deck.
As someone with limited experience in construction, I really appreciated that he had the expertise and ethics to do the best job possible. I would refer this company to anyone looking for an honest, hard working, attention to detail oriented builder. It is evident that these gentlemen love what they do and they are excellent at it.
I appreciate the hard work and will refer anyone who will listen to MN Construction and Property Management!

"Jonathan has done multiple jobs for me. He has done full remodels from studs to turn-key and also simple jobs such as chasing faucets, a window, unclog drains, etc. He has attended to my properties since 2015. He's responsible, clean, organized and proud of his work, as he should be. Would absolutely recommend him!"

Pole Barn Builders questions, answered by experts

Technically, most states allow tiny homes, but it depends on the definition of tiny and whether the structure is permanent. Zoning laws regarding home size and construction are significant factors. For instance, a tiny home may be legal as a recreational vehicle in most areas, but you may only install it on a property if it complies with building and zoning codes.

Yes, barn doors can be too heavy, although the limitation is usually imposed by the mounting hardware you buy and not your home’s framing, unless you’re building an unusually wide door. To keep the weight down, you can opt for 1-by material rather than 2-by material, and choose a softwood like pine rather than a hardwood like maple or oak. Check the weight limits on your mounting hardware, and always attach your door track to studs rather than to drywall anchors.

The foundation for a pole barn should be at least 36 inches thick to ensure that the piers won’t shift from frost heave.

Pole barns and carports are similar in that they rely on posts for support and are often not connected to a primary structure. The main difference between the two is that pole barns usually include walls that surround the entire perimeter of the structure, while carports generally remain open on three or four sides. It’s possible to insulate garage doors and even exterior walls on pole barns to create a comfortable workspace, and it’s a bit more secure for storage purposes. However, carports are more affordable.

American badgers sleep in the burrows they dig, which can be extensive, featuring multiple chambers and tunnels. Badgers prefer to excavate their dens in open grasslands, prairies, and fields where the soil is easy to dig. They are solitary animals and usually have several burrows within their territory to use as needed. These underground homes provide them with a safe and secure place to rest during the day and to raise their young.
