Stuart and his crew built our upstairs storage room. Also had them plumb in AC/Heat. They are the best! We have had Black Bear Builders do various projects for many years. Highly recommend them. Black Bear Builders did an excellent job with our unfinished basement. Other contractors I contacted prior to Black Bear Builders would not reply or be willing to take on the job. We had several items that were out of code from the time the house was built; therefore, there was a lot of effort with wall demolition, new electrical, new insulation, HVAC, and framing adjustments. During their work, they noticed our crawl space had moisture, which then led to the discovery of rotted siding. Stuart was open and honest, took the time to explain everything, fixed any problems, and made everything look amazing. There was constant communication with scheduling and providing updates, they were respectful of our home, and always cleaned up any mess after a long day’s work. Stuart and Tyler are deeply knowledgeable and display their skills with the work they do. Our family could not be happier with everything they did. I highly recommend Black Bear Builders and will be reaching out to them for future projects.

We needed a contractor who could shorten the overall width of the cabinets and countertop next to the refrigerator in order to accommodate a new refrigerator that needed more space to fully open. Black Bear was willing to take on this smaller job with no hesitation. The job was very well organized, well communicated, and competed in a timely fashion. Attention was paid to keeping the workspace very clean. No one can tell we had to make any changes - the final product looks like it was there all along.

We are very pleased with the end result of the work performed by Black Bear Builders. We have a brand new garage! Many subcontractors were required for this job and Stuart did a great job coordinating and scheduling their work. Stuart was very responsive to our questions and concerns. He was on the job site frequently to oversee and inspect work performed. Subcontractors were top-notch.

Following a storm that left hail damage to our roof, we contacted Black Bear Builders. While working with Stuart to choose roofing materials we decided to update the entire exterior of our house. This included siding, gutters, and garage doors. Stuart provided many roofing and siding samples for us to choose from and was quick to provide additional samples when requested. Stuart and his team were very friendly and professional. The quality of the work is top notch. Stuart was able to accommodate our special demands, such as lighting for the address, additional electrical for the Christmas lights, decorative brackets, and the dimensions of the complementary siding. Stuart came back multiple times after the roof was completed to check for nails in the drive, shrubs, and yard. He showed the same concern for our satisfaction after the siding was completed as well. It looks like we live in a new house now. It has been eight months since the siding was installed and we still get that feeling of satisfaction every time we pull up to our home. We will definitely contact Black Bear Builders for future projects.

We’ve had Black Bear Builders do alot of projects the past five/six years….Complete bathroom remodel which we absolutely love, smalldeck, siding on front of home/shop, radon and now this roofing project. Stuart worked with our insurance company making sure everything was done perfectly. His sub contractors have always done a great job and trustworthy. Stuart is a follow thru person so he makes sure all questions are answered and strives to provide quality work continuously. On time and professional

Very professional and thorough, did run into some delays and end up changing the plan slightly but all issues discussed directly and to my satisfaction. Would hire again and contractor does a good job of communicating.

Stuart was professional and communicated the project plan - there was a lot to coordinate across wood, drywall, and painting projects. Project is now complete and everything looks great - very much appreciated Stuart throughout this process. Would highly recommend to any.

Stuart was incredibly knowledgeable, worked really hard to make sure our radon levels would be drastically reduced and did a beautiful, professional job building the pipe in a complicated area. His work was worth every penny. He has the new certifications in radon mitigation and has so much expertise - his work in remodeling is beneficial when thinking about the structure of the house and potential concerns. He got our levels from 7+ to .05. Always cordial, patient with our many questions, and informative. I would recommend him in a heartbeat.

Prompt professional service.

It was a challenge for Stuart since the basement was finished. Being a contractor as well as a licensed mitigation specialist he was able to find solutions within the parameters that worked for me and the constraints of an older home. If the cost seems high, it's because my home required 2 extraction points. Considering all the work required, the price was fair. He was very conscientious, answered all my questions and was on schedule. I would highly recommend him.

We had our home retested for Radon after adding a bedroom in the basement. The testing performed by Black Bear Builders provided a detailed report of the results - much more information than the one use carbon filter test we had performed a few years earlier. BBB performed the test while we were on vacation as we requested. Could not even tell that they had been there. I have hired BBB for renovations before and have never regretted it. Will definitely hire again.

Service was prompt and came within the budget. The work done was very good and we were pleased with the improvement in lighting. The contractor worked with our schedule and did a good job with following up to make sure we were pleased with the work completed.

Attention to detail and pride in work show through. All areas where the work was completed was cleaned and left as clean or cleaner then when they came.

The project went great. Stuart is very good with organizing and we thought that the time frame was met. He was very particular making sure everyone showed up on time and checking in with us making sure we were satisfied. He was very tidy keeping everything clean during the remodel too. The contractors he hired were all extremely good at their jobs and very trust worthy. This project went very well. Stuart made sure the bathroom had everything completed all the way to having a service come in and thoroughly clean it after it was completed. We were very happy with Black Bear Builders. Radon levels were significantly reduced to within recommended values. System is essentially non-visible with piping only exposed in utility locations. No follow-up issues or problems.
