There is no one correct order for painting a room, as it largely depends on personal preference and skill level. Absolutely. Natural light, incandescent bulbs, and LED lighting all impact how a color appears. For example, a cool gray under daylight might look slightly blue under warm interior lighting. That’s why it’s smart to check color matches at different times of day and under various lighting conditions. If a color match appears only slightly off, lighting may be the reason.

Painting a wall involves multiple steps. First, clean and sand the wall to prepare the surface, then tape off any areas where you don't want paint to go. Next, shake or stir the paint in the can, then pour it into a tray. 

Dip a paintbrush into the paint can so that half of the bristles are coated. Use the brush to cut in or make a frame around the edges of the wall. Then, roll the paint roller in the tray, ensuring that it is evenly covered in paint. Roll the paint onto the wall in an "M" or "W" formation, making sure the paint is applied evenly.

Technically, mineral spirits are a type of paint thinner, so they can be used for the same purposes. In most cases, pure mineral spirits are preferable to other paint thinners. Still, if necessary, you can successfully use paint thinners for most of the same applications, such as thinning or cleaning oil paints.
