Brian and the entire crew with Environmental Design are top notch, second to none. Years back, we hired Brian and Team to complete a major front-yard project. It went so well, we didn't think twice about hiring Environmental Design again. Our first and only call was to Brian! Brian, due to his background and expertise at what he does, makes the process "enjoyable" and "care-free". Brian starts a project when he says he will and completes the project right on time. His estimating, layout and project planning and execution skills are excellent. Brian is also a very, very, very nice person to work with at all times. Same with his Team. No surprise they've been together for a long time. While placing boulders, the team is expert and very precise. They performed that task for both the front and back yard projects. They care for your existing yard, by placing plywood down while entering and exiting the property. They clean the site daily, to ensure you're well taken care of at all times. They begin project days right on time (very consistent and predictable), which we appreciated. Plant selection (to ensure one will have color all year long) and layout/presentation of those plants is an excellent skill Brian and Environmental Design possess. They also recommended and we acted on it, a dripline irrigation system which runs right off the automated system. Press a button and all the plants are watered on the hillside!!! So glad we did that. "I have a very old (almost 100 year old) house that I hired them to refinish the hardwood floors. What made this a 2 star and not a 5 star is the serious lack of communication. Paul was out many times (around 5 or so) to see what myself and my family were doing to get the house ready. Since it?s old there were 2 closets and the entry that had a tar paper on them. I had always let Paul know this and that was not an issue until the day that his son and grandson showed up to do the work. Then his son, Kevin tried backing out of it. I had to call Paul and talk to him about the issue. The work got done in the end but I have no idea why Paul didn?t take pictures or let Kevin know of the problem areas to show him before the contract was signed. Also wasn?t made aware I might have to pay more until he came for the last check. Nothing on the contract stated there could be add on for work, but he was asking for more because of the closets and entry. I paid what was agreed to by contract only."
