The tech was done in a few minutes and out of the house in 15 min after some chatting. The charge was $193, which seemed quite high. After asking for a discount, it was lowered to $175. Except for the price, I was very pleased. Bill and his tech were responsive and professional. I would hire again if the price seemed more reasonable."

We are dedicated to providing the kind of service that we would expect when inviting someone into our home for needed repairs, replacements and recommendations. We have access to other manufacturers as well. For service, repairs needing parts can be generally be completed in the first trip, as our truck stock is quite complete. We do offer free estimates for equipment installations.

"During a recent heat wave, so many AC guys were scheduling initial visits weeks away, and installs additional weeks after that. Genesis came out to review my problem days after contacted, and installed new AC about a week after that. Responsive, courteous, professional and cheaper than the area big HVAC companies."

Temporarily capping a gas line—for renovations or during travel—doesn’t require a permit. If you plan to remove a gas line and cap it completely, you’ll need to apply and pay for one through your town or city. Depending on your region and its local codes, you may pay between $25 and $100. To avoid a gas leak or other hazards, some cities take the job of permanently adjusting or capping a gas line out of the hands of homeowners. Most gas companies and utilities brokers will send a technician to relight a pilot light, but this may demand a service call fee. Contact your local gas company to inquire about available pilot light services. If it’s a no-go, just follow the aforementioned steps and light the manual boiler’s pilot light yourself. 

If your home uses more than one gas appliance, you'll continue to use gas, even outside of the heating season. Additionally, those appliances may also have a pilot light that is lit continually, using a small amount even when no one is at home.

The cost to move a gas line is around $500 on average or $20 per linear foot . A pro will carefully disconnect the existing gas line and reroute it to its new path. This may involve excavation if the line is underground or drywall work to repair your walls and ceilings. The project will finish with a pressure test to check for leaks and turning the gas line back on.
