Jack has done plumbing work for us several times in the past, including installing a hot water heater a couple of years ago. When the relief valve started dripping recently, he came out on short notice on his day off to make a first attempt at fixing the problem. When it started dripping again a few days later, he came by on Sunday morning to replace the valve and turn off our hot water (just to be safe) before we went on vacation. Then he returned when we got home the following Saturday evening to turn the hot water back on. There was no charge for any of the three trips. He's been great to work with and very informative. We've very much appreciated his help!

They did a great job of replacing the old shutoff with a new one and a new drain. That was simpler than replacing the old one that was in a difficult place to get at.

Jack was AMAZING. We needed someone to help us with a few items from a city inspection and needed the world done fast as we only had a few days until reinspection. I called Jack to see if he could help us out and he met me at the house 20 minutes later and had everything fixed/installed shortly after. Great attitude, great communication, great work. We received a recommendation from a friend that Jack at All Star Plumbing was great to work with. On a Sunday morning we had a sump pump and a backup sump pump break down. They were working well enough to not overflow but very much on their last legs. That same day (a Sunday) we called Jack and he came out within 2 hours and identified that both pumps were not operational and the backup battery was needing replacement. He replaced both pumps and the backup battery within a few hours. He also educated and provided tips to us on a few different items since this was our first home. Jack and his apprentice were great to work with, very clean, and did as much contactless work as possible in the midst of a pandemic! I highly recommend working with them!

Jack has helped me with multiple plumbing projects over the last 9 years. From gas line hookups to shower repair to water heater replacement, I have always been so happy with his his work. Most recently I had a frozen water pipe during a cold snap. Even though he was on vacation, he called me back and took the time to walk me through how to solve it. All Star did a great job! They were able to come out the same day. They diagnosed and addressed the problem quickly. The cost was very reasonable. The plumbers were friendly and personable. I would certainly hire them again, and recommend them to anyone.

We discovered our hot water heater had failed on a Saturday morning. We found All Star on Angie's List. They came out the same day and replaced our heater and took away the old one. There was a problem with the install due to the new heater being taller than the old one but they figured out a way to rework the plumbing to make it fit in a tight space. They also gave us a fair price.

Excellent from start to finish! Scheduling was easy, they were on time and did a great job, and the price was reasonable. They were knowledgeable and super friendly. They informed us what was needed to be done and they did with minimal destruction. What sets them apart from other “great” plumbers is that they really care about the customers. The cleaned the area as if it was their own house when they finished. We would definitely recommend them. We will call them for ALL the future plumbing work.

Had a kitchen hot water pipe blow out in the basement after thaw during "Arctic Vortex Coldapocalypse". It was in the worst spot possible behind the cold air intake for furnace on the sill plate sandwiched above the cold water line and vent pipe. Impossible to repair without removing large portion of furnace. Jack's team came up with quick solution to run PEX (30ft) from laundry room in the basement to kitchen in the upper level basically removing pipe from service. Crew was great, friendly and cared about getting the job done correctly. Price was absolutely reasonable. All Star Plumbing is one of those businesses where you tell other people "I got a guy".

Throughout the reno, I thought John was very nice. He quoted us $12,000 for the renovation, which I was expecting for a bathroom this size. As far as the permits went, I don’t know if John told my dad they weren’t necessary or my dad didn’t think they weren’t necessary, but I was adamant they were needed, so the proper permits were taken out. John kept me updated on almost everything he was doing and the renovation went well and we ended up with a great looking bathroom. Five years later, I decided to do a small garage renovation. After I pulled the drywall from the ceiling, I noticed more leaking from the shower that was renovated five years earlier. After further inspection of that area, I noticed (what turned out to be the original plumber) 6” notches were taken out of three joists to run the waste and vent lines for toilet...one joist had already split in half. At the time of the reno, John did notice the notches in the joists and tried to beef up the structure by sistering three foot 2x4’s to the compromised area (which is the wrong thing to do. The same size boards must be sistered to the defective joists to keep the structure intact). I was never told about this problem and I don’t know if my dad was either. In defense of All Star, they very well could have told my dad about this, but I have a hard time believing he would have overlooked something as major as a structural issue in his house. After a partial demo of the newly renovated shower, I discovered the waterproof membrane of the shower pan wasn’t installed correctly (it should have been installed over the curb), which coupled with the structural issue, caused the continuous leaking. Furthermore, I had found out from the city, even after one whole year of trying to reach them, All Star never had a final inspection of their completed work. Long story short, the bathroom renovation was a waste of money and materials and the only people whom the job benefited was All Star Plumbing. This time I’m doing it myself...at least I’ll know it will be done right.

Jack and his team did a great job. Jack explained very well what was needed and did exactly as he said he would. This was a 2-3 day job that became a 4 day job when we ran into issues with the 2nd floor bathroom, Jack did everything he could to make it as small of a disruption in our lives as he could. The were professional and kept the mess to a minimum. I definitely recommend All Star Plumbing.

Fine, at first. The bid of $1600 was the highest of the three we received, but we went with All Star because of the great reviews on Angie's List. I would always prefer to pay more for quality and expertise, as long as it's worth it. The trash disposal and new sink and faucet are fine. Jack had trouble with the toilet since it had been installed improperly, mentioning that it was hard to get level. After a few months, the toilet started rocking. If I had understood then what I know now, I would have called him immediately, but it was only when I saw the large sewage leak and mold in the finished ceiling of our basement below the toilet that I understood the gravity of the situation. I immediately shut off the water and called Jack. He couldn't make it out for a few days. When he did come, he discovered that the new flange, which he had replaced seven months earlier, was "bad." He fixed it, which was great, but then he billed us an additional $450 to install a new flange. No warranty of his previous work. When I sent him a note asking why we were getting billed such a high price for a simple job -- and for work that should have been warranted in the first place, I got no response. Not at all what I expected for all the money I had paid him. In addition, I had to pay for mold remediation work, a new ceiling, and painting. This has been a nightmare, and I hate feeling like I've been taken for a ride.

"I would like to reply to your review. On November 15th, 2017 I installed an American Standard ADA Comfort Height toilet. I had to raise your flange 3/4" due to the floor tile and the previous plumber did not raise the flange for the floor height. Note - I add one flat flange to to raise the height. I also installed a 1/2 horse power garbage grinder complete with a 2 year warranty. I also installed a new lav sink with a brushed nickel faucet. The price for this work was $1,600.00 which is a very fair price. Nine months later you contacted me about the leak in the ceiling. After pulling the toilet I could not find a reason for a leak. In talking to your husband, who was home at the time, I removed the tile and cement under the toilet at which time I found a big crack in the 3" ABS pipe and not the flange I had installed. I showed your husband that I would have to cut the pipe out below the floor. I then repaired the pipe and re cemented the floor. I then returned the following day to reinstall the flange and toilet. You were billed $450.00 for fixing the broken pipe and reinstalling your toilet. I had a person with me at the time that would repair and paint your ceiling for $450.00 dollars and you were to let me know. I am sorry for your issues but it was not my installment of your flange and toilet that failed. Thank you, Jack Stodola All Star Plumbing"
