"I hired JLM Home Solutions to install all my interior doors and closets including frames/casings in my upstairs. Jason was a horrible person the entire time I hired him. He acted like a nice person just to get hired. I regret hiring him. Unfortunately I had signed a contract by the time I found out he was no good. Every time I brought up something that was not done right, he’d yell and raise his voice at me. He’s very rude and unprofessional with the worst customer service. He was rude on text, rude on phone and rude in person. Jared, I guess one of his employees was a great person, very polite and did an amazing job. He worked on the project in a professional manner. He didn’t come back though to finish the project because Jason sent another person instead, David, who did an awful job. Jason didn’t want to hear it that David’s work was not the greatest. I had to put a stop payment after I found out one of the closet doors wasn’t installed right and other things that were wrong. Jason got so upset that he had to come back to fix the problem after I told him I didn’t want David. Jason came to my house but failed to fix the problem still. Instead he made me feel threatened in my own house. He was all in my face yelling at me saying nothing was wrong with the closet. Even my little dog was scared. I had to call my daughter and son to come over because I was so terrified that he was maybe going to hurt me. I stayed on the phone all the time while he was there so someone could hear his abusive behavior. That day after Jason left, I had to get a second opinion on the closet. Another contractor couldn’t believe the way the closet was installed and for Jason to insist it was okay. He left the old frame on and didn’t want to here when I mentioned it. I’ll have this closet removed and a new one with new frame installed the right way. I had to insist Jason deduct some money for that closet from the balance owed to him. A couple of days later, I noticed my kitchen door they installed still had cracks on the inside frame close to the lock. I had mentioned that to him. I texted him to let him know with pictures showing the cracks. Now Jason won’t respond to my text, email or phone. I asked him to send one of his guys to fix the door. Not him because I don’t want him around me. I’ve tried everything to get to him. I know he’s ignoring me. I paid him so much money for this project. If I don’t hear from him I’ll have no choice but to file small claims. He cannot leave my door like that after I paid him so much money and thinks he can just get away with it. If there was an option of zero stars, that’s what I’d have given JLM."

Above Roofing started with a dedicated man who had a big idea. In 1995 Robert Freeman was a single parent trying to make ends meet while raising his young children. He had a passion to help others and used his knowledge and skills to start his own company doing home repair services. There were always homes needing roof work, and it quickly became his most popular service. It didn t take long for him to realize that many homeowners were being taken advantage of by other roofing contractors. Some were pressured by dishonest salesmen selling the homeowners things they didn t need or promising one thing but delivering another. Other homeowners hired guys who were nice but incompetent contractors, overlooking important aspects of the job just to keep the price down to win the bid. This often ended up causing costly leaks, mold and warranty issues. Another concern was with the people who were actually doing the work. While the sales person looked professional and seemed trustworthy, the guys that showed up to work on the roof looked like pirate crews with foul language and demeanors to match. These were guys he wouldn t want on his home or around his children! With each case Robert came across, he discovered a common denominator: a homeowner who was not given the information they needed to choose the right contractor. His heart went out to them. He knew he wanted to be a roofer that was different than the rest of the pack. "Wonderful, honest, professional!!! Let me start by saying Hank is my guardian angel. Hank, his son, David and crew were a pleasure to work with. Timely, worked hard to install drains on one wall in my basement where water came in during heavy rains. I was quoted $2,200.00. Hank and his crew did an extra 2 feet of drains. When they were finished I asked Hank what amount should I make the check out for and he said, “as I quoted $2,200.00”, I was grateful and very appreciative as I am in a fixed income. I want to add before I found Hank I was quoted $19,300.00 by a major basement waterproofing firm. They were going to put drains on 4 walls of my basement - 3 walls never had issues with water. So when I say, “Hank is my guardian angel”, you understand why! "

"Accu Level overpromised and underperformed. We reached out to have a simple job performed as part of selling our house. From the start, we were told the work could be performed prior to closing. Due to timing and this promise, we did not get any other bids. Upon receiving the contract, we paid the deposit within one hour. From this point on, there was no communication from the business that was not initiated by us. We texted our rep and called the office every day from this point on to see when the work would be scheduled. There was no proactive communication whatsoever. Finally, one day before closing, our real estate agent demand a date to be scheduled and it was scheduled two weeks after closing. Thankfully, we had a flexible buyer who was willing to close without the work being done. On the day the work was supposed to be scheduled, with no notice, it was postponed for another week and the buyer had to find a time to reschedule. This had to be communicated to me by my realtor and not the business. After the work was done, I reached out to our rep to explain how disappointed we were with the customer service. This was verbatim his response: "Please understand this is not our normal scenario and there were people let go/had responsibilities changed because of it." I asked to speak to his manager. Upon speaking with the manager, he said they weren't willing to do anything to make amends for the lack of customer service even with his rep openly admitting that they did not meet their promises. The manager quoted back terms of the contract to me that they are allowed to reschedule and I explained that this was not a contractual dispute, but a complaint about customer service when an employee openly admitted fault and he was not willing to take accountability for his employee. I asked to speak to his manager. This conversation happened two weeks ago and I'm still waiting for that call. Don't use this business if you want any level of customer service."
