i am a small business. i do all the work myself with a little help from my son. primarily in the hearth appliance field. including wood, gas, and pellet fuels. installation and maintenance of fireplaces, hearth appliances, and chimneys.

"Great service. Came out and repaired and cleaned fireplaces and checked the bricks and mortar. Charged me $100 to come out. Chimney place in Holly wanted $329 for 1st fireplace and $299 for 2nd fireplace to come out. That price included a mandatory cleaning. Crazy!! Sanford was reasonable, efficient, and friendly. Definitely recommend."

Because of the potential danger associated with incorrectly capping the gas line that serves the gas fireplace, many people will choose to hire a professional to do the work. Some homeowners may choose to hire a pro to only handle the gas line for them. They then may attempt to remove the actual insert on their own, which is a challenging—but not impossible—DIY project.

Installation typically takes 1-2 days, and repairs can often be completed on the same day, depending on their complexity.

You’ll need to increase your budget. Since you will likely need a new outlet, factor in $120 to $200 for it. If your gas company needs to run a new gas line to your oven, expect a charge between $200 to $2,000.

A local natural gas plumber, gas fitter, or gas line specialist should fix gas leaks. Installing gas lines and connections improperly can lead to dangerous gas leaks and explosions. Only a certified plumber or gas line specialist should run gas lines. This is not a job to try out DIY skills, so hire a professional gas plumber or gas line specialist immediately to find the cause of the leak and fix it quickly.  

While you can install a gas dryer yourself, we recommend hiring a pro to help with any work involving gas (safety first!). Keep in mind that your gas dryer will have to meet specific codes and standards.
