"They worked to fix the sliders on a 1970’s sliding door wall. They were able to use available parts they had to complete the repair. The overcame what many would just not try to fix. Great job Sam!"

Customers say: True professional

"The whole service was great. The window replacement was a little slow because the installer had health problems. BUT, the installation was GREAT! It was about a week after the promised timeline. I contracted them to replace our siding because of a hail storm that damaged our aluminum siding. We opted to replace the siding with vinyl siding and it was a super installation. We also opted to replace our garage doors and openers. The contractors arrived at 5:30 pm and were finished at 7:30 pm. I was amazed. A great crew. All of the people involved were very professional. We will contract with them if we have projects in the future. Stan and Marilyn"

"We will hire him again! It's refreshing to find a professional who responds quickly, and does a superb job. He removed, repaired our rotted soffit and removed and repaired a facia board. Painted both and found the problem related to both issues. We will use him again !"

"Steve Wells, our technician from Precision did an excellent job of informing us of all timelines and ETA. Steve gave us sound advise for best options for repairing/replacing our overhead garage door. He demonstrated potential problems with the mechanisms which weren’t well suited to assisting the heaviness our overhead door. The overhead door was a DYI installation and will be replaced by Precision Overhead Door Service. We are looking forward to having a properly functioning door once again."

Door Repair questions, answered by experts

It could be difficult to get in and out of a lock for several reasons, such as the keyhole needing additional lubrication. Particles, debris, and dirt can also get into a lock, making a key stuck (the lubrication can help with the removal).

Many doors can be cut to size, but it depends on the door material. Solid wood doors are relatively easy to trim to a specific size, while hollow core and metal doors are trickier and can usually only be shaved down a little before you risk damaging them. If your door needs a lot of adjustment, it's best to order a custom size or have a pro do the resizing to make sure it holds up over time.

Proper door lock maintenance includes keeping the locking mechanism clean and clear of dirt, dust, and grime buildup, lubricating the lock annually, inspecting and tightening the lock regularly, and treating the door with care. If your maintenance reveals problems, it may be time to replace the lock or have a professional inspect it.

If a wooden door swells from temporary humidity or moisture, it should return to its original size as the environment dries out. However, if the door remains swollen due to prolonged exposure to moisture or water damage, it may not fully revert to its original shape and could require repairs or replacement. Using a dehumidifier and ensuring your doorway has good ventilation can help prevent and reduce swelling in wooden doors.

Yes, replacing the door casing rather than the entire door and doorframe is possible. To do this, gently pry the casing away from the wall and remove it. It’s also possible to remove the casing before installing a new door and then reinstall it afterward, so you don't have to purchase new casing.
