"The whole service was great. The window replacement was a little slow because the installer had health problems. BUT, the installation was GREAT! It was about a week after the promised timeline. I contracted them to replace our siding because of a hail storm that damaged our aluminum siding. We opted to replace the siding with vinyl siding and it was a super installation. We also opted to replace our garage doors and openers. The contractors arrived at 5:30 pm and were finished at 7:30 pm. I was amazed. A great crew. All of the people involved were very professional. "The employee that came to my home did an excellent job and I have no problems with him and would have him out anytime. My issue is with scheduling. They told me when I made my appointment over the phone that someone would be out to my house between 2pm and 4pm. The day before the visit, I received a text saying that someone would be at my home between 2pm and 4pm. At 12:50pm I hopped in the shower to get ready. After I'm done getting ready, I see that there's a voicemail on my cellphone. I listen to the voicemail and a gentleman says, hi this is Loren. You are on my schedule for 1pm for some repairs in your home and I'm ringing the doorbell and no one is answering. At this point it's 1:20pm. So Loren has now left. I called My Handyman back to ask what was going on. They said Loren will call you right back. 30 mins goes by and nothing. I called My Handyman back again and the representative says he's headed back to your house to be there at 2pm. I said to the guy on the phone, I though you told me he was going to call me back and I was waiting for the call getting worried. Loren showed up at 2pm and he showed me where it said on his tablet that I was scheduled for 1pm. I don't understand how you can tell the client 2pm to 4pm but tell the employee 1pm. They need to get their scheduler fixed because I almost missed my appointment. If you tell the client 2pm to 4pm then you have to stick to that, or you tell the client there is a possibility that he could arrive up to an hour earlier. Luckily I was just at home in the shower and I hadn't driven a ways away."

If you recently tightened screws to fix a loose doorknob, the issue is likely that you over tightened them. Doing so binds the turning mechanism, which will prevent your doorknob from bouncing back when you turn and release it. To fix this problem, loosen the mounting screws just a little so that the knob bounces back as expected but doesn’t wiggle. If this doesn’t fix the issue, try loosening the knob, centering it in the boring hole, and then tightening it.
To remove the door plates (aka strike plates), use a screwdriver to remove the screws, then pull the plate away from the door jamb. Sometimes, the plate gets stuck. In this case, use a utility knife to gently cut around the plate. Carefully pull the plate back and forth to loosen it. Keep cutting around the plate and pulling until it’s free from the jamb.
Regular maintenance of patio doors can keep them working and looking their best for years to come. Cleaning tracks and rollers, replacing damaged or worn weatherstripping, and routinely checking the door’s alignment can extend the life of your patio doors. Exercising care while using the doors can also keep them in good condition; avoid slamming doors shut, exerting heavy pressure against them, or forcing the latch mechanisms.
Vaseline or petroleum jelly will work to fix a squeaky hinge. Apply a little bit of the product across the entire hinge, especially in any scratches. Be sure to avoid getting any of it on your cabinetry. Luckily, it won’t run or drip like olive oil or other lubricants.
The lock block will either be built-in on the side of the door or run from the top to the bottom. Usually, there is a marking that indicates its location. You can also tap the door with the back of a screwdriver to find the lock block like you would find a stud in a wall.
