"I am so happy I went with Everdry for my egress window. I got a few quotes in the 6-10K range but Everdry was the only one that was capable of adding real drainage to the window. Half of my friends with egress windows always have water issues and it leaks from the inside because of all the pressure but Everdry used a portion of their exterior solution to make sure that wouldn?t happen to me. Not the cheapest but absolutely the best!"

"Russ Hastings is the owner of the business. We had a small leak in a crack that had been repaired previously by Concrete Waterproofing Solutions several years back. The crack reopened. Also we had some other cracks that left us concerned because we live overseas and come back only occasionally. Because we were back for the holidays, we had a very short timeline to inspect and repair, if needed. I explained this to Russ and he made it a point to come out ASAP. He inspected the cracks and gave good information on why they had happened and made us feel much more comfortable that there was not a major problem, but more of a normal occurrence. Russ inspected and made note of which cracks we needed to be concerned about and which we're more superficial and non structural. We repaired 4 total cracks and reinforced one corner although it was likely not needed. When a provider of materials was not open for the holidays, Russ called friends to obtain needed materials. His team worked late to accommodate my schedule and Russ will come back to check that all repairs are as planned. The cost was roughly the same as other quotes. As a note, the prior repair company noted above apparently did not even fill the crack as the quoted. When we ground off the top layer of epoxy, it was clear that the crack was never filled. Unfortunately this company no longer exists, but I hear their owner does under another name. Be careful! We recommend Russ and Precision Foundation Systems. He warrants work and it is transferable. Likewise, he made sure to pass on warranties from the manufacturers of the materials used.

"We had a very large, very long horizontal crack in our wall. Jacob W. was great. He answered all my husbands questions and worked his butt off. Along with Austin H. and Denzel K. The cleaned up everything when the job was done too. I would give them a 10/10 and would recommend them to anyone that needed foundation work done."

"I was referred to D R Drain by another local plumbing company for a backed up septic line. I spoke with Dan at D R Drain. He sent Justin the same evening to diagnose the problem (root ball near the tank end of the septic line) and clean out the main septic line. Following Justin's recommendations, I had the tank re-pumped and I've had no septic backup issues since. I contacted D R Drain a couple of weeks later to replace my ailing sump pump. Both jobs were completed in a timely manner and at a very reasonable cost. I highly recommend them!"

French Drains questions, answered by experts

First, find the cleanout pipe in your yard. Unscrew the cap—you may need a wrench to do so. Then, get a drain snake. You can use a non-motorized one, but a motorized snake will make the job a little easier. Feed the snake through the pipe until it reaches the clog. Spin the snake continuously, but don’t try to feed it through the pipe anymore. Keep spinning until you feel it break the clog apart.

Yes, you can pour water down the toilet to help it flush. For each flush, you’ll need 1 to 2 gallons of water for newer toilets or 3 to 5 gallons of water for older toilets. Rather than dumping the entire bucket in all at once, pour the water in slowly for the best results. If you’re pouring water down the toilet to help it flush after a clog, only use 1 gallon of hot water.

Your sewer line can get grimy quickly. To prevent sludge buildup in your sewer line, pour a mixture of 1/3 cup of vinegar and 1/3 cup of baking soda down each drain in your home once a month. After about 30 minutes, flush the drain with hot water.

Some plumbers recommend 3/4 cup of bleach instead to clean any germs and bacteria that may build up in your sewer line. But this won’t break down any active clogs, and it cannot be combined with vinegar, as the mixture will create a toxic, hazardous gas.

This depends on the location of the blockage. If the blockage is in your home’s system, anywhere in the system, it is your responsibility as a homeowner. Blockages seldom happen because of items or buildup coming from the city, which means it originates in the home. It becomes the city’s responsibility at the exact point your home’s line distributes waste into the city’s system. The exception is if the problem in your home damages the city lines.

While you don’t have to run out and immediately buy a new toilet at the first sign of a clog, if the toilet keeps clogging because it’s a low-flow or poorly designed model, a new toilet may be the way to go. If your toilet keeps clogging, you can try using less toilet paper, adjusting the fill valve, checking the toilet vent pipe on the roof, and using a toilet auger to make sure nothing is stuck in the pipe or trap.
