Small jobs welcome

"Five stars, and if we could we would give them ten stars! Not only did Ben and his crew do an amazing job at installing a french drain system around the terrace of our precious Frank Lloyd Wright designed house, but they were a pleasure to have around as well. Such nice guys! And very knowledgeable. They listened carefully to our wishes and delivered a very profesional job in just a few days time. Not only did they put the french drain system, but they also finished the work with very nice landscaping. We highly recommend Soil Friends Excavating, and will ask them to come back if we ever need more landscaping done. Tony and Marika Hillebrandt, Galesburg MI"

"

Showed up when promised for quote & actual repair. Very accommodating and honest. I felt like they would do whatever it takes to make the owner 100% satisfied. They repaired a floor to rim joist crack in the basement foundation wall and two leaking rod holes the right way and then ran water outside and soaked the troubled area to verify leak was sealed - quality work. I would recommend this company and will definitely use them again if needed.

"We had a very large, very long horizontal crack in our wall. Jacob W. was great. He answered all my husbands questions and worked his butt off. Along with Austin H. and Denzel K. The cleaned up everything when the job was done too. I would give them a 10/10 and would recommend them to anyone that needed foundation work done."

"The crew foreman, Josh Case was outstanding. Floor drains were installed in my garage and driveway, and I could not more pleased with the work of Josh and his crew! As no drains existed when I purchased the home, it looks like they were always there! Excellent work!"

French Drains questions, answered by experts

Start by pouring hot—but not boiling—water down the drain. The heat of the water may be enough to break down the clog. You can also try ½ cup of dish soap or 1 cup each of white vinegar and baking soda. If you choose a chemical unclogging product, ensure it’s appropriate for toilets to avoid damage.

A professional drain cleaner is a plumber or specialized drain cleaner with the necessary tools to unclog drains and tiles to keep waste water flowing out to the septic tank or city sewer for processing. Keeping wastewater from backing up into your home helps keep you and your family safe from potential contamination and sickness. These pros can help resolve nearly any drain situation in a safe and efficient manner.

An active cleaning agent and a drain snake is the best way to clean a main sewer line. You can purchase a regular or enzyme drain cleaner or make a DIY drain cleaner with baking soda. Use your chosen solution at least once a month or as needed to keep your sewer line clear.

The spin cycle on your washer should initiate draining, but if you still find leftover water in the washing machine tub, you may need to drain it manually. To manually drain a washing machine, you’ll need to turn off the power supply and locate the drain hose, filter, and pump. Open or disconnect these parts and let the water drain into a bucket.

The best way to unclog a bathtub drain is to pour a pot of boiled water down the drain, being careful not to splash yourself. However, take precautions, as boiling water can damage PVC pipes and joints. Follow up with ½ cup of baking soda and ½ cup of vinegar. Cover the drain with a small sink plunger and let it sit for 15 minutes. Pour boiling water down the drain again and replace the drain stopper.
