Ben removed old concrete sidewalk slabs, installed a French drain to collect ground and downspout water so that we no longer have foundation flooding. He also replaced the old concrete with a beautiful flagstone walkway which drains and is beautiful. Ben is a thoughtful, knowledgeable problem solver! We highly recommend Soil Friends Excavating.

Ben and the guys were great. Always arrived early and worked late. I had them replace a retaining wall which they did magnificently, exceeding my expectations. Ben did an amazing job on fixing your water issues in our egrass windows for our basement. The retaining wall, drainage and French drain he installed is keeping us dry. Ben and his crew just finished a job at our home, taking water away from where it had entered our basement beneath an egress window by adding and rebuilding retaining walls, drains, gravel and a French drain He was very knowledgeable and an excellent communicator. His team was very efficient and professional. They started and finished the work right on time. They left our property looking much better than it did at the start, were extremely careful with any cables they encountered, fixed areas in the lawn that were affected by equipment, kept us updated on their progress daily, and kept to the price they quoted for the job. Truly amazing work! Our egress filled up with water and flooded our basement. With the new retaining wall and drain system they installed we should never have to worry about that nightmare again! Ben was such a great partner in a recent project on my farm. I was placing a pre-built shed for adaptation to a chicken coop. Ben came out and walked the property with me. He listened carefully to what was important to me and what I was trying to accomplish. He made suggestions and helped me make the best decision for the project. Highly recommend. Soil Friends Excavation replaced a timber retaining wall that had fallen with tumbled pavers and also upgraded the concrete pavers. They also installed a French drain system to prevent water running down through plants. Ben also helped with some design aspects, to maximize space Ben is professional and communicated daily about the progress, weather, and timeline for the project. Wow! Thank you Soil Friends Excavation! This exclamation is for the final result, the impact that result has had on life and other projects, and the customer service and guidance shown by this wonderful team at Soil Friends Excavation, LLC. My project was simple and straight forward; remove the extra soil and level the yard to allow proper drainage. The yard had been raised over three-feet above grade in various mounds. A fair price was quoted, work was scheduled, and started soon after. Once the work began, it was almost over. In a typical, small, city backyard, Soil Friends quickly and patiently removed four full dump truck loads of soil. That soil was then followed up by another full truck load of numerous surprise 16-inch diameter trees that were buried under the soil. To finish up, as the team was doing a final pass with hand tools to further grade and even the yard, they took the time to educate and guide me through additional options for making the yard I didnâ t have before, mine again. This transformation of an unusable space into a proper hangout has caused strangers and neighbors to stop by to take pictures and ask about the team who did the work. Having an actual backyard and seeing this noticeable change gave way to a second wind for this Fall. This space now allowed for company to come over and spend time outside while I cooked at the grill, which has happened more in the last few weeks than the last few Summers combined. Their work prompted several other exterior projects getting started and completed within days of my yard being reclaimed. Soil friends work is wonderful. They have installed a beautiful patio and retaining wall for new garden beds. Additionally, they put all gutter down spouts into drainage systems to route water from the house and most importantly, the basement. Installed a French Drain system to deal with the most egregious source of water into the basement. They're easy to work with and very professional and dedicated to getting the job done!

We had Soil Friends do two projects for us recently. First they removed a river rock filled garden in the back yard, hardscaping the area, removing the rock and the top layer of hard soil. They installed a retaining wall and filling it with new top soil. Bob's attention to detail made for well built and beautiful retaining wall. The second project involved hardscaping an area where several pine trees had stood and building a mounded area for future trees and bushes. Ben kept us informed every step of the process. They took their time to ensure the work was done right regarding functionality, aesthetics, and safety. It's evident that they care a lot about their work and ensuring that the customer is happy.
