"James was very honest with me and told me the problem was due to downspouts dumping out at the foundation which needed to be redirected. Leaks were minor and he told me I won't need his services. I tried to pay him for his time and he would not take any money. If and when I need foundation service he will be my first call. Good guy and very professional."

"They were very timely in there calling to hear my needs and assist in my problem. Unfortunately they were not able to help with the type of work needed (raising building and replace foundation of garage) Very courteous and helpful in possibly redirecting back to Home Advisor or to another Professional who could help me."

"The man that came to our house was very nice and we felt as though he was not trying to sell us a basement system, but more-so a piece of mind. Also, he explained exactly where everything would be and how it would all work. Thanks, Roger!"

Sump Pump or Interior Foundation Drains - Install

"I have 2 houses, one in Oklahoma and one here. They both have AHS. The price is $75 if it's covered. The problem with AHS is every house that we've ever owned has been on a slab and AHS does not pay for anything, like they don't pay for plumbing encased in concrete. So all your plumbing runs through the slab and I've had 3 different instances having to do with slab leaks that AHS paid out $500 and the actual repair costs were between 2000 and 10000. It works really well for a lot of stuff but if you have a house with a slab, you have to expect that you'll end up paying a lot if you have a leak."

Foundation Drain Installation questions, answered by experts

A grinder pump is a major investment for homeowners and business owners alike. Protect this investment by choosing a reliable and reputable contractor to source the pump itself, install it, and outsource any additional work. Research local sewage system contractors ahead of time to ensure they have the appropriate insurance and licensing. You should also perform a fairly thorough online search to get a feel for the company’s professionalism by reading reviews.

Finally, give them a call to discuss the project. A good technician will be more than happy to get into specifics regarding both the installation process and the pricing.

French drains, sump pumps, and exterior waterproofing systems are common options. Choose one that best suits your property’s needs.

A sump pump battery backup can typically run for 6 to 24 hours. The factors that affect its runtime include the battery capacity and pump usage.

When purchasing your backup system, take these factors into consideration to determine which system is best for your home. If you live in an area with frequent and long-lasting power outages, consider a longer-lasting backup battery.

A sewage ejector pump is necessary if you have any plumbing fixtures, such as a bathroom, laundry room, or sink, located below the level of your home's main sewer line. Standard plumbing relies on gravity to drain wastewater and solid waste into the municipal sewer system or a septic tank. For fixtures below this level, like those in a basement, gravity cannot move the waste upward. The ejector pump provides the force needed to pump the sewage up to the main line. Without one, wastewater from below-ground fixtures would back up, potentially causing a sewage overflow and flooding. If all of your plumbing is on the main floor or higher, gravity is sufficient and an ejector pump is not needed.

Not all window wells have a formal drain, but they all require a method for water to flow away from the window. Some wells are connected to an interior or exterior drain tile, which is the most effective solution. Others rely on a deep layer of gravel or crushed stone that allows water to filter down into the soil.

However, if a window well lacks a proper drainage system, it can lead to basement seepage, costly water damage, mold growth, and potential foundation damage. This is especially true in areas with heavy rainfall or expansive soil.

If your window well doesn't have a drain or is not draining quickly enough, you have a few options. For gravel-based systems, the stone may have compacted and needs to be improved. For a more robust solution, you can hire a plumber or window installer to connect the well to a drainage system. This can also be a DIY project using a shovel or auger.
