"This was a smooth and seamless experience. From the quote and estimate to the crew coming to do the waterproofing. Eric was very helpful and informative throughout the process of scheduling and what financing options were available to making sure we prepped everything that we needed to. Deshawn and his crew talked me through what they would be doing and what to expect along the way. He explained the timeline and to expect dust to settle for a couple days so they would leave plastic on all of our items in the basement for us to remove when we were ready. He gave me a walkthrough at the end of each day and a final video explaining everything. The basement looks so good and will be able to be easily finished in the future."

"Guys ran a little late to start the day, but they got the job done, worked steadily to get it done, and did a great job. We love the new water heater and filter, and the sump pump is working fine. Would definitely hire them for the next plumbing project too."

"Everything went well. Joel actually showed up to my resident early. He did a overview of what I needed and did the job for a reasonable price. He was able to install a new sump pump for me, and it was done in a timely matter. I am very pleased with the service I received."

"We had a horrible smell in our basement. We thought it might be a drain. Called Drain Works first thing in the morning. Very professional on phone. Asked me when it would be convenient for them to come by. Was told they'd be by 9-12:00. Got a call close to 9:00 from person coming to house. He explained he'd come by soon. Carl and Bill arrived and were very helpful and professional. Explained everything. Fixed our problem--yea! But pointed out another issue with a pipe that we needed to address. They put a temporary cap on that pipe They weren't sure that cleaning the drain would fix our problem. They were very precise about what we should do if it didn't and how to know if it wasn't fixed. I definitely would have called them back if it wasn't fixed. We would have had to have a more extensive drain cleaning. But they started with the easiest and cheaper way to fix our problem. Found them on Angie's list and am glad I did!"

"I liked the tech that stopped by and provide the quote for the natural gas fired Power Vent water heater replacement. I know they would do a good job on the water heater. They install Bradford White which is a very good water heater. Since it was not the same model and physical size as the currently installed unit, some small modifications would be needed. I went with a smaller local plumber who would install the same AO Smith physical size unit (no modifications needed) and his quote was about $250 less."

Sump Pump Installation questions, answered by experts

Yes, it’s normal (and beneficial) to have a small amount of water in the bottom of your sump pit. It shows that your system is collecting groundwater, rain, and excess water from around your property—just like it’s supposed to. However, if the sump pit is always full, you might have a leak or a faulty sump pump.

Costs depend on pump type, labor rates, and the extent of repairs or installation needs.

A small sump pump running infrequently uses an average of 10 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of electricity per month. The average cost for electricity is $0.171 per kWh. The size and use frequency affect how much electricity it uses. Sump pumps average one-third to one horsepower (hp) motors. One hp is equal to 745.7 watts. Watts multiplied by the time your pump is running divided by 1,000 equals your average kWh. Multiply kWh by your average cost of electricity. In areas with high rain or a marsh basin, the average cost can be as high as $15-$25 a month.

When a backflow valve fails, wastewater will flow back into your system, contaminating your drinking water. You’ll immediately notice backflow valve failure from a rotten smell and brown water coming from faucets. Get in contact with a septic pro or a plumber immediately if you suspect this has happened to you.

Inspect the pump annually, test the float switch, and clean the discharge line to ensure efficient operation.
