"The staff was friendly and professional however there appeared to have been a disconnect with the communication between the team which resulted in the kitchen sink not being secured, areas missing caulk and small section of my cabinets chipped off. These issues may stem from me being told that from one team that when the other team comes out, they will take care of it and when that team arrives, them stating "they don't do that". There are teams that work on taking the doors to the warehouse, countertop installers, etc..etc."

Kitchen Cabinet Refacing questions, answered by experts

Cabinet refacing typically takes 2 to 5 days to complete. The exact duration depends on several factors, including the size of the kitchen or bathroom, the level of customization, and the complexity of the updates. For example, uniquely designed doors and drawer fronts may take longer to manufacture and install. While a professional can often complete the job within this timeframe, a DIY refacing project may take longer.

Yes, soft-close drawers are quick and simple to add to a refacing project. Get in touch with a kitchen cabinet refacing contractor for an estimate. In many cases, your cabinet contractor or repair person can bundle the cost of upgrading your cabinets to soft-close drawers into the total bill of your project. They may even offer a discount for combining these services, but you’ll need to shop around for the best deal.

Yes, replacing cabinet doors only as part of a cabinet refacing project. During the cabinet-refacing process, the doors and drawers are typically replaced, while the cabinet boxes themselves are covered with a veneer or laminate. If you’re content with the look of the cabinet boxes, however, you can simply swap out the doors to save money on labor and materials.

You should not clean cabinets with vinegar. While many homeowners think it is a natural cleaner, vinegar is a mild acid, not a degreaser. Since it does not cut through greasy grime, it won't effectively remove it from kitchen cabinets. For best results, use a degreasing cleaner designed for prep work, then rinse and dry thoroughly before sanding.

Refacing cabinets is more cost-effective than total replacement and offers a refreshed look by simply replacing doors and hardware, and applying new surface veneers while retaining existing cabinet boxes.
