"After I requested for a quote on Angi's, Josh (the owner) called me right away and sent the estimates by email. He was very prompt in replying to all my email inquires which was really great.. The estimate I received was very reasonable. Setting up an appointment was a breeze. The guys who came to do the work (Tony and Jack) were both amazing.. very professional and courteous, they worked meticulously and did a thorough job, explaining what needed to be done and even offered advise on location of some of the new recess lights (which was extremely helpful). Would highly recommend Voltron Power to all my friends and neighbors for any electrical work..!!! Five stars.. :)"

"Had them over to fix a faulty circuit. The service man "Sam" was on time to the minute and found the problem within a half hour. Fixed the problem, advised me on what caused it, and gave a general inspection of the electrical. He wasn't just a service person but an asset. Would recommend this company."

"Joshua came to my home because I’ve lost power in parts of my home. He took a look at my homes electrical system and then we sat down where he explained the issue to me. He worked hard and even pulled a permit for the job and because of his hard work my home has all of its power back on."

Sometimes you open up an outlet and you find this. I am glad that it did not turn into something more.

"I hired Derek and his colleague to wire up our new hot tub. He was excellent at communicating and providing an estimate before work was started. The quality of work he provided exceeded my expectations. Everything was done neatly, to code, and did not leave a mess at my house. A sprinkler line was damaged during trenching, since we didn't know it was there, and he made the repairs with no questions asked. I would definitely hire him or recommend for electrical work. A+"

Electrical questions, answered by experts

Completing electrical projects in Pontiac enhances both comfort and safety, especially in older homes with outdated wiring. Upgrading to modern electrical panels and installing GFCI outlets help prevent shocks and fires. Adding features like dimmable lighting, smart thermostats, and extra outlets in high-use areas increases convenience. These improvements also support reliable power during Michigan’s storms, making your home safer and more adaptable to today’s technology.

Helpful?

Homeowners in Pontiac often encounter extra costs such as permit and inspection fees, or the need to upgrade electrical panels to meet current codes. In older homes, hidden issues like outdated wiring, insufficient grounding, or the discovery of hazardous materials can require additional work. Limited access in crawl spaces or finished basements may increase labor time, and fluctuating material costs can also affect your overall project budget.

Helpful?

In Pontiac, start your seasonal inspection routine by checking outdoor outlets and surge protectors each spring after winter weather. In summer, inspect air conditioning circuits and outdoor lighting. Fall is ideal for reviewing furnace wiring and ensuring weatherproofing, while winter calls for monitoring heating loads and holiday lights. Test smoke detectors monthly, and schedule a professional electrical inspection annually to maintain year-round safety.

Helpful?

Pontiac’s weather, with cold winters and humid summers, can strain electrical systems. Winter’s low temperatures may cause older wires to become brittle, while summer humidity increases the risk of corrosion. Frequent storms make surge protection and backup generators especially important. Planning electrical work during spring or fall, when weather is milder, helps ensure safer and more efficient project completion.

Helpful?

In Pontiac, electrical upgrades provide immediate benefits like safer appliance use and improved energy efficiency. Over the long term, updated wiring and panels can boost property value and prepare your home for future needs, such as electric vehicle charging or solar integration. Proactively addressing electrical issues also reduces the risk of unexpected outages and helps ensure your home meets evolving safety standards.
