Customers say: Quality work

"Everything went well except that when the electrician installed a junction box (strangely, there wasn't one before), a large crack developed in the mirror. He stopped work immediately, called the issue to my attention and reported the problem to his boss. Streamline Electric called me promptly with assurances that they would have the mirror replaced. They were true to their word and, in fact, followed up with me several times to assure that the replacement was scheduled by the mirror company and then made sure that the electrician was present when the new mirror was installed so that he could finish the electrical work. Streamline gets the highest rating from me for outstanding customer service! Their professionalism and the quality of their electrical work was equally impressive as their customer service. I would use them again without hesitation and recommend them highly."

"Josh was prompt and professional. Price was competitive with other quotes. Josh performed the work with his crew. His crew members were friendly and seemed very knowledgeable. I would call Voltron for other electrical work in the future."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

After finishing electrical projects in Clarkston, schedule a final inspection within 30 days and inform your utility provider if service was upgraded. Keep all permits and inspection records organized. Plan for annual professional inspections, test GFCI outlets twice yearly, and clean your electrical panel every two years. Update your homeowner’s insurance policy and save before-and-after photos for documentation and future reference.

Helpful?

Signs that electrical work may need to be redone in Clarkston include frequent breaker trips, flickering lights during high usage, or outlets and switches that feel warm to the touch. Outdated electrical panels, cloth-wrapped wiring, or missing GFCI protection in key areas are also red flags. Damage from ice storms, moisture in basements, or evidence of rodent activity can further indicate the need for professional evaluation.

Helpful?

To maintain electrical safety in Clarkston, inspect outdoor outlets and lighting each spring after snow melts. Test GFCI outlets monthly, especially during wet seasons, and check surge protection in summer. In fall, seal outdoor electrical boxes and confirm heating system connections are secure. During winter, monitor for ice buildup around exterior components and watch for increased electrical loads when heating systems are in use.

Helpful?

Completing electrical projects in Clarkston increases comfort by ensuring your heating systems and appliances operate efficiently, especially during harsh winters. Upgrading your electrical panel and circuits supports modern devices and smart home features, while installing GFCI outlets in basements helps manage local humidity. These updates not only enhance safety but also boost your home’s value and appeal to buyers seeking reliable, up-to-date systems.

Helpful?

In Clarkston, hidden costs during electrical projects often include the need to replace outdated wiring, especially in homes built before the 1980s. Additional expenses can arise from required permits, inspections, or if asbestos is found when accessing walls. Labor charges may increase for work in tight crawl spaces, and upgrading utility connections or preparing for a whole-house generator can add further complexity to the project.
