"I hired them to excavate and pour 42" footings and a slab for a new garage. They did a great job and communicated well during the entire process (we did have some weather delays). They also did a great job of keeping the job site clean during the entire process. The cement is square, pitched properly, and looks great! I have already recommended them to friends. I will use them again for future jobs."

"Arbor Brickworks crew came out to inspect the chimney. They tried to sell me a limestone cap for $2500 but I told them I just wanted the $299 coupon deal that they were running. They were fine with that. They sealed the space between the metal chimney and the concrete cap and then sealcoated the entire top of the chimney cap. Well worth the price because I didn't have to get up there and do it myself!

"Due to the constant rain, my new driveway got delayed. But once there were a few clear days they came and got it all done quickly. Very happy with the price and how well it came out. They even added some detail to the new concrete that matched the part of the driveway that we didnt replace. I didnt even think to ask for it."

Concrete Resurfacing FAQs, answered by experts

In Monroe, schedule concrete repair if you see cracks wider than ¼ inch, spalling, or uneven surfaces—especially after winter. Watch for standing water, white powdery residue, or gaps between concrete and your foundation, as these signal moisture or soil movement. Inspect your driveway and sidewalks each spring and fall, and address any trip hazards or drainage problems before the next freeze.

Helpful?

For concrete repair in Monroe, keep crack filler, hydraulic cement, a wire brush, and a pressure washer for prepping surfaces. Stock up on concrete sealer and flexible expansion joint materials to handle Monroe’s frequent freeze-thaw cycles. Store calcium magnesium acetate as a de-icing alternative, and quick-setting concrete mix for urgent sidewalk or driveway repairs. Always keep supplies in a heated, dry area to prevent damage during Monroe’s winters.

Helpful?

When hiring a concrete contractor in Monroe, look for experience with local clay soils and foundation repair. Ensure they understand Monroe’s seasonal weather and can provide references from recent sidewalk or driveway repair projects. Ask about warranties that cover freeze-thaw damage and verify they’re familiar with local permit requirements. Be wary of contractors requesting full payment upfront or offering unusually low bids in Monroe.

Helpful?

In Monroe, using rock salt for de-icing, skipping annual sealing, or allowing water to pool near concrete can reduce its lifespan. Avoid harsh chemicals and high-pressure washing, which can damage surfaces. Don’t ignore small cracks—freeze-thaw cycles can quickly worsen them. Keep expansion joints clear of debris and manage yard drainage to help your concrete repairs and sidewalks last longer in Monroe.

Helpful?

Monroe’s climate, with frequent freeze-thaw cycles and high humidity from Lake Erie, can cause cracks and scaling in concrete surfaces. The best time for concrete repair or foundation work is late spring through early fall, when temperatures are consistently above 50°F. Heavy rainfall and high groundwater levels in Monroe also require careful drainage planning to prevent future sidewalk or driveway issues.
