"Brent explained how the leveling process worked, which was much more involved than I thought. He advised me as to how leveling slab-A might affect slab-B, so we could decide exactly how to approach the job. As the work progressed, he leveled a couple other slabs free of charge, for a better result.
He ran into a problem with a small slab under a step, but took his time, and did the best he could.
He, and his partner, were professional and courteous, taking time to assess how each slab might affect the next one. They cleaned up the mess very well before they left, and never gave me the impression that they were only concerned about how quickly they could finish and leave.
They're pricing was much better than two other quotes, and their salesman seemed more willing to help me decide which slabs to level without running up the cost.
I wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

"Good alternative to replacing concrete. CLI Concrete Leveling out of Ypsilanti was the first to respond with an estimate for driveway repair at my home. I live in Kalamazoo. They are now going to do some work at my office and also do a neighborâ s driveway."

"Very hard working and dedicated team! Removed and re-poured my aging and cracked back yard concrete porch. Very detailed and knowledgeable. Properly re-leveled the surface with gravel prior to pouring. Coordinated with other contractors working on a separate project to make sure job is done right and exceeded my expectations. This team is highly reliable! I strongly recommend if you need help with your home projects!!!"

Concrete Leveling questions, answered by experts

To protect your concrete leveling work in Monroe, avoid poor water management. Overwatering lawns or having clogged gutters can saturate the clay soil, causing new settlement. Parking heavy vehicles like RVs on the slab too soon can also cause damage. Additionally, failing to seal new cracks before Monroe’s harsh winter freeze cycles allows water to penetrate and compromise the repair over time.

Helpful?

In Monroe, driveways and garage floors often need concrete leveling work due to the area's expansive clay soil. Basement floors are also vulnerable because of the high water table, a common issue in the region. Sidewalks near mature trees, patios with poor drainage, and front stoops on older homes frequently experience settlement and damage from Michigan's freeze-thaw cycles, making them prime candidates for repair.

Helpful?

Before any concrete leveling work begins in MI, a professional must contact MISS DIG 811 to locate underground utilities, as shallow lines are common in older Monroe neighborhoods. After the job, monitor for impacts by checking for new foundation cracks, changes in basement moisture, or issues with door and window operation. This ensures the lift hasn't negatively affected your home's structural or drainage systems.

Helpful?

In Monroe, MI, the most sensitive parts of concrete leveling work are soil assessment and material choice. Skipping a thorough analysis of Monroe's clay-heavy soil can lead to failure. Using inferior polyurethane foam that can't withstand the region's 80-100 annual freeze-thaw cycles is another critical error. Incorrect injection point placement can also result in uneven lifting, especially on older concrete slabs.

Helpful?

When hiring pros for concrete leveling in Monroe, prioritize those with experience handling the area's unique clay-heavy soil and high water table. Ensure they carry liability insurance that covers potential damage to Monroe's aging underground utilities. Also, ask for local references, inquire about their expertise with both mudjacking and polyurethane injection, and confirm their warranty covers repairs in these challenging soil conditions.
