We are licensed builders by the State of Michigan and we are proud members of the Michigan Historic Preservation Network Resource Council. Some types of snow fences may work for keeping Fido in your yard. The openings can be small enough to prevent a dog from escaping. However, you want to make sure the openings aren’t susceptible for them to get stuck. While some types may contain the pup, the fence will require regular inspection and maintenance. It’s best to discuss which type of snow fence is ideal for your needs with a pro.

You can sometimes install a fence over a gas line. Fence installation typically requires a two-foot depth for posts, so if the lines are shallower than two feet, you cannot put a fence post over the line. You’ll need to call 811 to get the gas lines located and marked before you start the project.

Vegetable gardens can easily become a convenient food bank for your local animal population, whether it’s squirrels stealing fruit or rabbits munching on freshly grown veggies. If you want to keep those critters out, it helps to put a fence around your vegetable garden that’s at least a couple of feet tall to deter any animals from getting past it.
