Took the money and never pulled a permit, still has not returned the $5.000 he was supposed to return for not finishing the job, very rude, very unprofessional

The owner of Affordable Concrete, Ron Engel, talks about customer service as the paramount concern for his company while enticing you to sign a contract. Nothing could be further from the truth. Unless you contact him via text message you will not hear from him. There is a total lack of communication. When he does respond, he always has an excuse as to why he is not showing up to complete the job he has started. He was hired to build a 16 ft wide porch. In actuality the porch is 8 ft wide. A large mess of excess concrete, unused wood for forms, plastic sheeting and old bricks was left sitting in my front yard until a worker finally came 15 days after the initial pour to remove the forms from the porch. While attempting to remove the forms a corner of the porch top was damaged by the workerâ s hammer. This along with large holes, gaps on the sides where the porch meets the house and an uneven finish has left me with an eyesore. Not only is the porch half the size it was to have been but it was never colored or sealed as was contracted. Rain water does not run off the porch but puddles. Also, one step that was constructed is only 8 inches deepâ ¦highly dangerous for an exterior step, especially in Ohio winters. I am not a litigious person, but I have now hired an attorney to settle this matter through the court system. The last message I received from Ron Engel for Affordable Concrete was a response to my query regarding completing the job he started and was paid to do. I quote, â I donâ t have time and this is getting out of handâ . DO NOT HIRE AFFORDABLE CONCRETE OR RON ENGEL. This is the worst contractor I have had the misfortune to encounter.

Worst contractor I have ever hired to do work. Promises everything and delivers D- work. Very smooth on presentation but after you pay it's like he doesnt know you. No customer service. I cannot emphasis how poorly we were treated. I think he underbid to get job and then under performs on service. We have holes in our 5 mos. old patio and cracks.

This company, Ron, the owner, had quoted me a price, we agreed to. When they came back a few weeks later, they were braking up the concrete and told me it was too thick. They added 600. to my bill. They left me porch all torn up for 2 weeks, claiming dump truck was broke, they could not get the broken concrete. Finally in August, they came back, concrete was poured. It has now been 3 weeks, they did not come back to clean up the excess concrete nor take the forms they used to pour the concrete, nor cut the lines to prevent stress cracks. At first Ron stayed in contact. Now I do not get any response from him. This place is not where you want to have your concrete work done. I am disappointed, I did pay them, never thinking that they would not come back to clean up and finish the job. Crooks.

In July we hired Ron from Affordable Concrete Construction to remove our old driveway, bring in of new gravel, install Pink Bar, and pour a 4 concrete driveway using 4800 psi concrete. Driveway was to be a uniform slope from top of garage floor to top of sidewalk. The first day Ron presented us with a new quote/contract with different specifications from the original quote. We did not immediately notice the changes. Also, the work performed that day was subpar. The next day we confronted Ron. Ron tried to bully us into accepting the changes. When we refused, Ron began screaming at us. My neighbor heard screaming and almost called the police. We told Ron to leave. Our attorney advised us to tell Ron to stay off our property. We asked for a refund, but Ron refused to refund us for work not performed. Our attorney advised us to file in Small Claims Court. Rob called back and showed up when no one else did. He gave a great quote and did the repair and replacement of an almost 50 year poured porch and front step. He widened it and made it bigger from front to back putting smaller steps on both sides. The engineering of the porch allowed my mom to spend three more years at home in her house. Able to access the front porch with assistance and railings. She was able to go out to her porch or onto the lawn to her swing. He and his daughter, did great work!

Affordable Concrete had to replace and rebuild our 30 year old poured concrete front porch. The finished product was better than the original. They were timely. No delays and I'm very happy with their work.

Ron is an all around great guy! It was genuinely a pleasure working with him! He and his team worked their butts off on tearing out our old asphalt drive and replacing it with a beautiful concrete drive! He kept us informed every step of the way. Communication was excellent! Pricing was truly Affordable! Could not be happier!

Do not hire. Rip off.

Everything has changed from bad to good. Ron is very knowledgeable person. He put his heart into his work, and I am very pleased with the do over. Ron and his team have stepped up to the plate and made a difference in how a true patio should look.

Hired them for a patio extension. They identified an issue with our existing patio & ended up replacing that for us as well. Incredibly quick turnaround between providing a quote & finishing the project, in less than one week. Courteous & hard working group of guys -- had a nice looking 24x12 patio installed in a short amount of time. Very pleased with the finished product! Overall cost was fair as well, so I'd recommend them!

I go out often and aadmire, my beautiful driveway. I would highly recommend His work . It is so hard these days to find a good hard-working, honest man, but Ron is just that!

Hired this company to install faucets in the bath kitchen, that went? ok?. Ron was late for my project. I then discussed with him adding a dishwasher which he agreed to do we started discussing plans. He said he ordered materials and would start the project in 3/4 weeks. Well, that time came he said he needed half upfront(ok no problem). After repeatedly asking for a contact(for 2 weeks) I never heard from him again. He will not return texts or when I call he hung up on me or sent my calls to voicemail. Now I have wasted over a month of my time, have wasted hundreds of dollars on purchasing a dishwasher I have no one to install. I would never work with this company again.

Friendly, very accomodating, went over and above to help in other areas. Arrived on time, called when delayed. I would use this company again.
