"Phil can our and provide an estimate and a complete overview of the services. Within 24 hours or receiving the quote the work was scheduled and completed. The work was done in an extremely clean, professional and prompt manner. All employees of Metzger’s throughout the process were more than willing to take the time to answer all of my questions in great detail. I would not hesitate to use them again in the future. The time and cost for the water heater replacement was significantly less than other local competitors that were quoted."

"The Temperature Pro team reviewed an issue we were having with air flow in our 2-story home. They suggested zoning that would separate the lower and upper floors so that they would operate on independent thermostats. They split out the duct work and installed a unit to control the air flow based on which thermostat was calling for heat or A/C. The cost was very reasonable, the technicians were top notch, and the work areas were left cleaner than when they arrived. The technicians explained in detail how the system worked and what to do should we experience unexpected air flow issues. The system they installed works flawlessly and both floors now can be kept at a comfortable temperature. I have recommended Temperature Pro to many people including my elderly parents who they have treated with the utmost respect."

"Tummons was one of six estimates, after one company stated that we would need to replace the air cooling unit. The rest all quickly stated that we needed to replace the unit. Tim wanted to check the unit prior to moving forward on a replacement. He found a way to fix the unit and saved us over 2,000. HIs integrity and knowledge was greatly appreciated.

Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

Yes, government incentives and programs are available to encourage energy-efficient upgrades in many regions. These incentives may include tax credits, rebates, grants, and low-interest loans for homeowners who invest in energy-efficient improvements such as HVAC system upgrades, insulation, and efficient windows. The availability and specific details of these incentives can vary by location, so check with your local government or utility company to explore your options.

Both evaporator coils and condenser coils are recyclable and contain valuable, sellable metals such as copper and aluminum. Not only is it more earth-friendly to take them to a local metal recycling facility, but you can also trade them in for cash. Also, once the coils are removed from the system, they won’t have any traces of refrigerant, so you won’t have to arrange for recycling Freon or R-410A unless you’re disposing of the entire AC system.

During the summer, it’s best to set your AC to 78 degrees when you’re home and awake, according to the Department of Energy (DOE). For better energy efficiency, raise the temperature slightly to 85 degrees while you’re out of the house. The National Sleep Foundation advises lowering your thermostat to between 60 and 67 degrees when you’re asleep.

There are a few ways to determine if a vent is open or closed. You can inspect the vent and examine the position of the fins. If there are spaces between them, the vent is open. If the fins are flat and touching, the vent is closed. You can also stand under the vent when the system is running to see if you feel air flowing through it.

No, heat pump maintenance needs are very similar to air conditioners, including keeping outdoor units clean, changing filters regularly, and occasionally scheduling a refrigerant check to see if any has leaked out. Heat pumps typically switch automatically between heating and cooling, so you don’t need to worry about manually changing them every season. However, since they are always on call, they can develop wear and tear faster than an air conditioner.
