We have them install the furnace before we bought the house and also for maintenance. We also had them install the air conditioning system inside the house and also for maintenance. We satisfied with their work.

Excellent customer service, professional and very courteous team, trusted contractor. Our family has used Kidder Heating & Air Conditioning for decades, and I contacted them when it was time for central air, a high efficiency furnace and some ductwork. I'm very happy with the results, will continue to rely on them for routine maintenance, and would recommend them without hesitation.

We don't use them for repairs because they're too expensive. They do subsequent cleaning services. I have an older home so it was a little bit tricky. They were very professional and they were a very capable group of people. They knew how to work in the older homes around my area. They clean up after themselves and they explained all the features of our new furnace. That's an investment too. Since it is an older home, they did replace some of the duct work and they did a fine job there too. Sometimes its a little bit difficult with all the nooks and crannies in an older home. They've managed to maneuver it into the areas that we needed it. They took the time and they were willing to explain all the things that they were doing before they did and the layout of it after they did the work so we understood exactly what they accomplished. We got to choose the heating system we wanted and because of the age of our home, we had to specialty design some of the duct work that had to be replaced. They're really good. They've been around the area for years. They're very expensive when it comes to service calls and repairs. They were competitive. There are a few competitors out here. Everybody was pretty much in line. I wanted the type of furnace that they were offering. We did our research and they had the best model. With the service call, they were $80 walking in the door. The products that they sell are carbolic products, they don't have to come in often. If they do it hurts a little bit. Its  little bit more expensive when they have to come in and fix.

There were to installation technicians that showed up at my house on May 16, 2014 at approximately 9:30 AM and they seemed well prepared for the job at hand. They were more concerned about interfering with my day and wanting to make sure that they were not going to be in the way.

They asked me where I would like the outdoor unit placed and I advised them that I had no idea where to put it and I would leave that decision up to them.

They asked me a few questions about what usually went on outside during the day and based on that information they were able to place the fan unit at the back of the house.

I was impressed with the fact that they advised me on everything that they were doing so that I had an understanding of why it was being done and that if anything was to go wrong I would be able to figure it out, which would make it easier when I call them if I needed repairs done.

The two gentlemen work through their lunch, which I felt bad about and if I had been thinking I would have fed them lunch but they seem more concerned about getting the job done and making sure that it was done correctly.

They took extra time to answer my questions and listen to my stories, which probably delayed them somewhat but they were courteous about it and listened.

They were very professional and had the utmost concern for my home, my yard, and make sure that when they left they took all of their trash with them.

A word to the wise if you use these guys, they love rhubarb pie.

I would have no problem in recommending this company to my friends and family.

The technician found the problem right away, but still took the time to check the rest of the furnace to make sure everything else was working properly. We will be using Kidder for our future heating and cooling needs.

Kidder had measured the opening in the spring of 2013. We contacted Kidder in October to order the unit based on their measurements. Well, they installed the day before Thanksgiving and it lasted all of 2 hours. The unit was oversized for the opening and it got so hot it melted the control mechanism. So we had to wait over 2 weeks more to get a smaller unit ordered. They installed that unit and it worked from December to April (4 months) then started shutting itself down and the pilot would not stay lit. We called them to find out why and they said we needed to pay to have the unit tuned up (around $125+). Being the unit was only 4 month's old, it was still under warranty but they said that the tune was not part of the warranty. We only used the unit on Friday and Saurday nights so it was only used maybe 2 dozen times. So we did not use it any more until October 2013. Then we called in another company to check it out. They corrected what appeared to be an poor installation. It has been working properly since then and this other company said they never heard of a tune up especially after only 4 months of use.

Last week Semco had contacted us to change out our gas meter, due to inefficiency. After the gentleman from Semco left I noticed our furnace was not coming on. I waited about 45min and then called them to see if they could come back. I knew there was not an issue with our furnace, as we have not had any problems since it was installed, and was running fine all day. The customer service rep at Semco told me they could come back, but the issue was most likely something they could not repair, and just coincidental that they were there when it stopped working. I immediately called Kidder and asked if they could stop out that afternoon..I have three small children that all had colds and did not want to have to wait long. The CSR at Kidder was extremely helpful and said she would get a technician there as quickly as possible. The tech arrived in about an hour and found no problem with the furnace. When the gas was shut off, the furnace had tried to light and after several times, it went into lockout (a safety feature). I would think this is something Semco should be aware of. The technician from Kidder was great and explained everything in detail..and DID NOT CHARGE ME A THING! I was shocked, I did not think anything was free anymore. I was impressed with them after our installation, but this showed they really do care about their customers.

I was originally given an unitemized bill for $723. After questioning the amount they sent me an itemized bill for $465 with a $258.75 labor charge and $119.50 for materials. I again questioned the owner about the cost and was told it was the standard labor charge for installing 2 new heat runs even though I had done the most time consuming work of cutting the holes and installing the registers in the ceiling, installing the elbows and fastening all the joints with screws and silver heating tape. Also, after this company first installed my heat pump I referred a neighbor to them and they didn't keep appointments and never did get back with them with a price even after repeated calls.
Response from Kidder Heating & A/C
"The member called our office to get a quote over the phone. We gave him the approximate cost without seeing the job. We sent a new employee to the member’s house to complete the job. Upon a call from him about price of work hours charged we investigated and found that our employee had recorded all the time that he used at the shop preparing to go to the member’s property as well as his lunch. We corrected the labor charges and apologized for our mistake. As the member’s claim about his neighbor, we were there twice to measure the job and talked to the customer. At the last trip we told her that we probably did not have an equipment solution for her. It is possible that we did not confirm that with the customer by phone after the second trip."
