Along the way we were a bit indecisive and made a few changes which added work to the original scope, increased our budget and timeline, however Douglas immediately shifted into another gear and was able to incorporate our changes within the original design. You can achieve the ideal placement by using a level, straightedge, or other measuring tool. In the event that your cabinet doors are not installed evenly, most hinges allow you to adjust them so that your doors can be perfectly lined up. 

As a homeowner, there are a few things you can do to prepare for your cabinet installer. Once the cabinets are ready for your home, you can do the following:

  • Ensure pets are safely in another room, out of the way of open doors and large moving objects.

  • Clear countertops for removal.

  • Tidy the floor the installers will walk through and around. 

  • Prepare to have the installers in your home for the entire day, for multiple days, until the project is done. Expect to have a noisy environment, especially if they will remove old, existing cabinets.  

Installing custom cabinets is a great remodeling project to add value to your home. The return on investment can be over 70%. If you don’t have the budget for all new custom cabinets, try refacing your existing cabinets instead. This can still freshen up a tired kitchen and help make your home appealing to potential buyers.

It can take anywhere from two to six hours to install bathroom cabinets, depending on the complexity of the project. Keep in mind that this doesn’t include the time to build custom cabinets if you go that route. You can also expect the project to be on the lower end of the range if you hire a pro, as opposed to DIYing the task.
