They completed one job for me that they never cleaned up their garbage after and I paid them 5k for another job that they never showed up for.
Total scam company and scam owner. Do not pay Marty any money. He will steal it and never do the work or return the money.

Nope. Don?t do it. We had this company do a complete remodel of the entire house. This included taking the house down to the studs, new electric, new plumbing, new kitchen, new deck, new porch. They promised it would take about 9 months. Nope. They promised another 2 months. Nope. It ended up taking 16 months AND they didn?t finish (had to hire another contractor to finish). During this time frame, we hired them to build a huge barn. Gave them a lot of money. They got about 1/3 done, asked for more money & ordered some material which we received but no more labor was done. They filed for Chapter 11 (restructuring) & can?t pay their employees to finish jobs. We are out thousands of dollars: (1) the original money paid, and (2) paying to have the work done AGAIN by a different contractor. We are one of about 30 clients that are creditors in the bankruptcy. Rage is an understatement at this point.

The work was never done. It was supposed to start in November but they kept being delayed. On December 11, the provider said he could not do the project by Christmas as the contract required so he would be happy to pay me back my deposit of $2242. I said fine but the check has never shown up and he no longer will respond to phone calls or text from me. After waiting received letter from company attorney that the company filed bankruptcy

Carpentry Framing - Repair
I needed work done on some basement Joists that were cracked. I showed Marti and Richard two different areas where there was damaged and needed to be fixed. After three days of work they were finished and had me come down to look at their work. The areas I showed them that need work were not even touched. They said that they could not fix it. These areas should of been the first areas attempted to be fixed not areas that did not need fixing. If they decided they could not fixed it they should of said so at the very beginning. Knowing that they could not fix what I needed done they should of have had the integrity to not even start the project.

We were contracted to ?sister? or replace the floor joists in the basement as they were cracked, some rotted and the upstairs flooring had a significant dip. Our agreement had the number of joists to be repaired. We set up lasers and went to work on lining up and strengthening every joist accessible. The furnace area wouldn?t be accessible from the basement we would need to remove the flooring to access but the customer declined before we started. Doors (Exterior) - Install or Replace
Required way too much back and forth to get the job done. When my door was initially declared finished I could still see daylight all around the frame. Then there were issues with the exterior trim being done correctly that required 3 callbacks before my garage was again weathertight, and I was satisfied.

"Thank you for the review. I would like to take a moment and share our side of this repair. We contracted to install a man door on a 40 year old garage. The aged foundation was cracked/crumbling and out of square. The siding was faded from years in the sun. As we clearly stated in the contract, the J channel to be installed would unfortunately not be an exact match due to fading and there would be other issues due to the poor condition of the foundation under the door. Very pleased with the results of our bathroom remodel project. The job took longer than expected and I would advise anyone scheduling a reno not to count on timeline being exact because challenges pop up. The mirror I ordered for bathroom was cracked and couldn’t be installed upon completion of project but they assured me that they would return and install it when it comes. It hasn’t arrived yet so I may need to update this if they don’t come back but they did everything they said they would.

Amazing service. In and out within a month. Made my bathroom look beautiful , brand new vanity, countertops, curbless shower, paint, mirrors, light fixtures, the whole shabang. Friendly, affordable, and fast. 10/10 would definitely hire again. Amazing work!

I am so glad I found Northstarr for my project and would recommend them to anyone. I had a very bad experience with another contractor and the experience with Northstarr helped restore my faith in the profession/industry. Marty met with me personally to get the quote going and seeing how to move forward with the project; and was very open to all my questions and making sure we mitigated surprises on the quote end. All the crew members that came on site were wonderful, and I appreciated that Dennis and Richard kept me in the loop and were very open to my questions/changes along the way. The workmanship is fantastic, and Dennis had some great suggestions on touches to the project that really helped enhance the final look. During the project, there was going to be a time when a large patio door needed to be moved, and I was concerned about my cats getting outside. Northstarr was very understanding and was able to structure the work such that the door was able to be moved without ever giving the cats access to getting outside. Everyone I worked with throughout the process was kind, helpful, respectful, and really walked what they talked. I also liked that the crews were very friendly and I was able to have some great conversations with many great people. Again, would recommend them to anyone and honestly one of the best experience I've had with a contractor in my many years of home ownership.

Northstarr is very tough to rate for our project - certain aspects of the work are impeccable and the final result is as close to what we wanted as I think was possible under the circumstances; however, the issues encountered were/are large enough for us to not want to do business with them again. The good - the final result is very close to our design, they were quick to respond to a quote request after several other companies failed/ghosted us and the first 6-8 weeks of the project went without major complications. It felt like the Supervisor E was our only advocate and did his best to make us happy while towing the company line and sticking to the "contract". The cabinets seem to be solid quality and our countertops are beautiful - although the stone people missed the appointment at the house 3 different times and overall delayed the project ~3 weeks for delivery and installation. The bad - there was constant misunderstanding between what was our/their responsibility. Whether that was hardware, staining the wood, supplying shelving, etc. Some of that is our fault as we didn't know what we didn't know - but they didn't help us understand at all what was expected of us or all the items we were expected to provide at any one point. The communication was horrid and there was such a revolving group of people that I often would tell someone something, and a different person would finish the task different than what I had told the first person? Deciding when a "progress" payment was due felt scammy as there were multiple weeks where two or three days progress meant someone was requesting a check on Friday. Essentially the entire project would have been paid for 3-4 weeks before completion if I hadn't held back where possible. At 17 calendar weeks start to finish, even accounting for the holidays, we felt there was a lack of effort to complete the job after the majority of payments had been made. (I'll say a week of that delay was our fault to get the final items delivered for installation.) Biggest problem adding to the frustration of the job is that two weeks after the last payment was made, I was served with notice that a lien was filed against our property for the cabinets that apparently haven't been paid for - and so now we are dealing with the legal necessities of following up with Northstarr and determining next steps to protect ourselves as payment was made in full. Random observations - one of the workers was told not to stain our wood trim, shelves and table legs because it wasn't written into the contract; however after being told this, he took the stain that I purchased home with him thinking it was the company's and never returned it. Then a different worker came two weeks later and used replacement stain that I had bought to finish staining new pieces of wood that we bought?? Our personal step ladder is missing (accident?) and 3 different laborers offered services to us off the record for miscellaneous things at the house. Despite saying they would help get things as usable as possible (we were expecting newborn twins at week 14 of the project), we went all 17 weeks without a kitchen sink, range or running water.

Very happy with NorthStarr. They were quick to reply to my request for a quote. Once I accepted the quote they let me know about how long it would take to get started. They let me know the job would take 2 weeks, it ended up being three weeks but not a big deal, that is expected. All of the trades men who worked on our project were respectful of our home. They always showed up when they said they would and would let me know if there were any delays. All of the employees were great and we appreciated the work that Joe and Tyler did on our project. I would not hesitate to recommend them or hire them again.

Carpentry Framing - Repair
Great communication and customer service! We had a couple glitches that Northstarr willingly and quickly corrected. It was an unusual job removing a 30 year old built in jacuzzi and refinishing a room to match the rest of the 30 year old paneling. We would use them again.

Excellent job at reasonable cost. I would only suggest they do painting at the end of project, not the beginning. I had to touch-up and repaint a couple areas due to scuff marks from the job.

My wife and I have nothing but good to say about the Northstarr Team. We hired them to do a fairly major Kitchen re-model (relocation) as well as new flooring Throughout entire house and new Stair-case (Spindle). From the very beginning when the team arrived to review our plan, (or should say general concept), they listened and helped us plan a layout that turned out better than we could have expected. Our objective was to turn our house into our retirement home and we couldn't be happier. Great Quality work, Listened and followed through with every detail. The minimal punch list was completed promptly and thoroughly.
