"We had Everdry come out in 2003 to waterproof the basement. The work was well done, professional and has saved the foundation of the house. We haven't had any water in the basement since. The warranty is transferrable and that is a plus if we ever sell the house. CLR, Portage, IN"

"Precision Foundation was worth waiting for. Russel went out of his way to contact soil engineers for advice since our house presented unique problems. The crew were very polite, conscientious and hard working. Russel was honest regarding our house's problems and was always willing to answer our questions. He tells it as it is, no slick salesmanship. All our questions and concerns were answered and addressed. We would definitely use this company again if needed. They are honest and fair. I was very impressed with how much hard work and clean up they did."

"Ayers was great to work with! Before even coming to the house, they sent a booklet regarding their systems so that we could do our own research. When Donny arrived, he inspected our basement and made several recommendations, taking the time to explain why he suggested each option over others. When the crew arrived for installation, PJ took the same time and care explaining their process and answering our questions."

House Leveling questions, answered by experts

Many contractors offer warranties for their work. Confirm terms before starting the project.

Address drainage issues, avoid heavy loads, and seal cracks to prevent future settling.

On average, a mudjacking repair lasts between five and 10 years, though it can sometimes last for well beyond a decade under ideal conditions. Its longevity depends heavily on several factors, including the condition of the underlying soil, environmental conditions like freeze/thaw cycles and erosion, and whether the root cause of the sinking, such as drainage issues, is resolved. Because it doesn't always fix the underlying problem of loose soil, mudjacking is often considered a temporary solution. Proper maintenance and evaluation can help extend its lifespan.

Mudjacking can be an expensive foundation repair process, but in many cases, it’s well worth the investment. This is especially true if you’re lifting a portion of sunken foundation slab back into place. In that case, mudjacking can help avoid major structural damage and even home collapse by restoring the integrity of your structure with minimally invasive procedures. Mudjacking a concrete patio, walkway, or sidewalk can be worthwhile because it removes tripping hazards and makes your outdoor area more aesthetically appealing.

A good slump height really depends on the project, but there is a use for nearly all slump levels. For example, low slumps are best in projects that require structure, such as curbs and roads. High slumps often require additional reinforcement, but they flow more freely into hard-to-reach spaces.
