He was able to answer my questions about exterior of house that might need attention to maximize keeping basement as dry as possible, while working in parallel with interior system 4. Professional, respectful, straight forward PROPOSAL 1. Informative 2. Best warranty in the industry. 3. Cost came in similar to other proposals that would not have been effective solution for my situation INSTALLATION - BASICS 01. Anytime Gary ran into a home specific challenge he was able to overcome and offer different solutions to correct 03. Any silly question I had was happily answered 04. Walked me through progress daily 05. Was able to adapt to inspector asking for a different proposed sump pump solution, this was no problem 06. Was able to re-assure me that removal of old shower was best interest when he found sub-par installation and mold! 07. The work was super clean in basement 08. Trench was a good 14 inches wide, dug to bottom of footer, with 4 inch pipe installed 09. Gary made sure to test each weep hole very carefully and re-drilled any hole with questionable drainage or mortar clogs 09. Final gravel, pipe and cement installation was executed flawlessly 10. Permit inspector raved about the good job Gary and his team had done and he passed inspection with flying colors INSTALLATION - ABOVE AND BEYOND 01. There was questionable broken shower drain pipe, he just fixed it, no problem 02. While preparing area around sump pump Gary went the extra mile to investigate what could be another bad "home made" plumbing solution. Turns out the previous owner did not connect sump pump outlet to main sewer line, leaving a visible gap, and essentially allowing sewer gases to escape! Gary then switched gears, put on his plumber hat, and had multiple solutions to correct problem. There was a nominal cost associated with it, but I was MORE THAN HAPPY to pay for properly fixing a very bad plumbing situation. 03. Gary's crew are also there to get it done right. When his crew arrived one member pointed out that cleanout to main sewer line was not up to code. This was not pressing concern, but once other plumbing problems were uncovered, they brought this up to code at cost of some new PVC pipe. Very nice. 04. Gary's final cleanup surprised me, in a good way. After seeing first hand the unavoidable mess this type of work can cause, Gary humbly said they do their best with final clean up. Well, when we did final inspection, the basement and exterior never looked better. Nice."

"I spoke with roughly every foundation repair business within 25 miles of my home, and all gave me vastly different solutions upon seeing my home. Based on the research I did (online articles, reddit, etc.) Russ's solution aligned with everything I was looking for without me having to lead him there. We had new I-beams installed (plus several carbon fiber straps because my stairs hug the wall), new internal drain system, one wall re-aligned (with exterior waterproofing including hauling away clay soil and backfilling with peastone), and tuckpointing. It was a huge job to say the least, but the quality of work done was outstanding. During the job he will call you over to educate you on everything he's doing. His #1 priority is making sure you (as the customer) are 100% satisfied with the work being done. You always have the opportunity to ask questions, alter the solution, or add-on additional work. He has a solution for everything. With all that being said, you'll probably have to wait awhile, and it's on you to keep the line of communication open. My advice to you is if you don't hear from him after consultation/quote, follow up with him, try to gauge when work will be able to start, and follow up as the date gets closer. He runs one crew at a time so that he can oversee the job, he does every consultation/estimate himself, so it's challenging for him to chase everyone down to see if they're interested. Most companies want to get in and out as fast as possible, cutting corners, etc. Russ doesn't operate that way and will make sure the solution implemented is bulletproof. Your patience will be rewarded. It was great to meet everyone on the crew, big thanks again to Russ, Russell (son), Jake, Jay, David, and Tez!"

"Overall we were very pleased with the work done, and the changes made will hopefully be lasting positive change. Quote Process - The initial visit was by far the most thorough we had, with a lot of effort made by Jackie (the owner) to visualize and then communicate the vision. It took a while for the quote process to get underway, and some of that probably had to do with the pandemic timing and how busy all landscapers were after resumption of activities in Michigan. Once it started, there was good engagement and a lot of good planning communication. Timing - While the quote process took a while as described, once the quote was issued, the lead time was very competitive, and the time to do the work was quick given the amount of work done. Communication - Overall, communication was very thorough and effective before, during, and after the job. Since we had time and cost overruns during the job, Jackie was good at summarizing the cost status every night or morning to let us know where things stood. Communication during the job could have been a little more frequent, but as the customer, I struggled with trying to manage the job while working from home, avoiding too much contact due to the coronavirus pandemic, and letting them do their jobs without micromanaging them. A few things might have been miscommunicated or misunderstood both ways, but the vast majority of the communication was good. Quality - The quality of work done was overall very good. Jackie made our property look much better with her vision, and the installations were done well. There was a fair amount of damage to the grass on our property to the grading and moisture level (it had rained the day before they were there), and while they did seed and smooth (which has since grown in well), there were some areas that they didn't see that could have used it and are still a bit damaged. Price - Hourly costs and plant costs seemed very reasonable and competitive. The overall cost of our job had significant overruns, but mainly because there were several unforeseen issues that had to be dealt with and likely could not have been known during the quote phase (all under the ground stuff you wouldn't find until you dig). Efforts were made during installation to minimize cost because of this, and a cost cap was set to avoid a massive overrun to be fair to us as the customer, which I thought was unique and customer-focused. Post-Installation Help - I reached out a few times after the job was completed to ask advice and Jackie was very helpful and thorough in her replies. I think this is something that a lot of landscapers don't care to do, and I think it should be celebrated that someone takes time to build a more lasting relationship instead of an "on to the next job" philosophy. I would definitely hire them for future jobs, even more so with the knowledge that jobs after coronavirus is under control would be easier to more freely communicate during the job."
