"I was extremely happy with the job Mario and crew at M & L Painting did on staining my large deck and two sets of steps. He was very professional and easy to work with.. Also was able to schedule right away for the next week and finish in one day as it was a smaller job for him. They worked all day non stop and even sanded the handrails on my steps nice and smooth. TheY cleaned up very nicely also. I would definitely hire him again if I need any painting or remodeling work done. GREAT jOB!"

"Kodra Painting LLC is prompt, efficient, and clear. I would recommend for any internal, external, or staining projects you may have. They use quality paint and materials, and include patching and repair, but they do a very good job on everything. It's not like they do "OK" patching/repair and great paint. They do all of it, and they do it all well."

"Very well. Very difficult job with cathedral ceilings and many ledges. Dry wall repair was very time consuming to fix the bad drywall job where the two pieces of the ceiling come together when the house was built. There was a 2 inch gap. Great job. Jason and Joe were very efficient and easy to work with."

"I have to be honest. He just did it yesterday and I havenâ t seen it dry yet. It looked okay wet which is when all the flaws are noticeable, it looked great wet, should be even better dry"

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

Whitewashing isn’t permanent, but it can last for a long, long time. When you apply it correctly or have a seasoned pro whitewash your brick, whitewashing can last for 20 to 30 years or longer. Whitewash is very durable and typically requires little maintenance, making it a great project for most DIYers.

It is not always necessary to remove old stain before restaining a deck. If the previous stain is in good condition and is compatible with the new stain, you may be able to apply a new coat after thorough cleaning. However, if the old stain is in bad condition, flaking, or peeling, it is best to remove it completely to ensure an even surface and proper adhesion for the new coat. Staining over a damaged layer can lead to an uneven finish and poor penetration. For best results, test a small area first and consult the stain manufacturer's guidelines.

Yes, professionals offer slip-resistant options for added workplace safety.

Whether to paint or stain a deck depends on your personal preference for appearance and budget. Stain provides a natural look with a range of undertones, is typically less expensive, and may only require one coat, but it does not last as long as paint. Paint offers a sleeker finish with a virtually unlimited color palette. Both options will protect your deck from outdoor elements like rain, snow, and general wear and tear.

Stain is meant to be absorbed by the porous wood, allowing some of the natural grain to show through. With that in mind, you don’t want to add more stain than the wood can absorb, as you risk covering up its natural markings. Generally, two coats is the maximum you should do, although very dense hardwoods may only be able to take a single coat.
