"I met with Alex from TrueCoats, LLC, he was punctual for our meeting and demonstrated outstanding customer service. The work was done within the timeframe promised; even earlier then expected! Excellent quality for the price! I am going to hire them to paint my deck next."

"Pinnacle Painting did an amazing job painting the exterior and parts of the interior of my house. All the painters were super hard working, friendly, and paid attention to detail. Ryan is a class act, he explained every detail during my estimate and there were no hidden fees. In fact, my gutters were cleaner than he thought so he took some money off my bill, which is super ethical. Ryan also spent an hour after the job going through old paints from another painting job to color match and giving me tips on how to touch up a few areas. His price was very fair. Interestingly, he was an art teacher before owning a painting business so he has a great eye for color and attention to detail. Nothing but 5 stars for Pinnacle and I will be recommending him to all my friends!"

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

Yes, professionals offer slip-resistant options for added workplace safety.

The best temperature to paint a pool deck is between 50 and 90 degrees Fahrenheit, because many paints and sealers require temperatures warm enough for the chemical reaction to take place for proper curing. The paint should not be allowed to freeze, and temperatures above 90 degrees can cause the paint to dry too quickly, also preventing the chemical reaction from following through to completion.

Oxygen bleach uses hydrogen peroxide as a base and won’t harm wood when using it as a cleaner. On the other hand, chlorine bleach breaks down wood at the cellular level and causes irreversible harm. Although you may not see immediate damage to wood after exposing it to chlorine bleach, its strength and integrity are now compromised.

If you have a smooth, already bonded concrete surface, painting a concrete pool deck can be a great way to brighten up the area and add longevity. If the surface has another covering or a different type of paint has been used previously, you won’t be able to paint it without removing the existing coating. Wooden decks benefit from painting as it helps to keep them watertight. Quality pool deck paints also help make the surface less slippery and less likely to gather mold and mildew or prematurely crack.

Whether to paint or stain a deck depends on your personal preference for appearance and budget. Stain provides a natural look with a range of undertones, is typically less expensive, and may only require one coat, but it does not last as long as paint. Paint offers a sleeker finish with a virtually unlimited color palette. Both options will protect your deck from outdoor elements like rain, snow, and general wear and tear.
