Home Warranty prides itself on providing the best value in the home warranty industry, making our Home Protection Plan the home warranty of choice wherever we do business.

"Buyers Beware – Total Waste of Money We purchased the premium home warranty package through Home Warranty Inc (homewarrantyinc.com) when we bought our home in October 2024, including the add-on for sprinkler system coverage. As anyone familiar with North Dakota knows, sprinkler systems must be winterized in September or October to prevent freeze damage. Ours was professionally blown out as soon as we moved in. Fast forward to spring—sprinkler systems in this region typically aren’t used again until late May, after the last freeze. We hired a professional sprinkler company to perform the spring startup and inspection. They found that multiple valves weren’t working properly. I filed a claim with the home warranty company immediately. Despite having the coverage, they denied the claim, saying it was a "pre-existing condition." That’s absolutely ridiculous, considering the system was winterized upon move-in and wasn’t even operational until months later. To make matters worse, this company has no partnered service providers in our town. You're expected to find your own technician, and good luck finding one who’s willing to work with them. Even if you do, you're likely stuck paying a significant amount out of pocket if anything needs to be replaced. This company is a complete scam. They take your money and leave you high and dry when it actually matters. I would never recommend them to anyone."

Currently, Surface Link is the Certified Warranty Inspection and Repair Service Agent for several manufacturers throughout the country, such as DuPont Corian, DuPont Zodiaq, LG Hausys HI-MACS, LG Hausys Viatera, Formica Solid Surface, LivingStone, Caesarstone, Gemstone and many more . Our goal is to help to restore your countertop back to its original condition. Why replace your countertop? Surface Link can repair it for a fraction of the cost!

"It took a lot of phone tag to finally get the technician to our house, but once here he was efficient and professional and did an amazing job. The chip was in the edge of a white quartz countertop, very difficult to match perfectly, and the repair is absolutely invisible. Not the lowest bid, but worth the price."

Home Warranties questions, answered by experts

While it varies by retailer, customers may be able to cancel an appliance's extended warranty within a certain timeframe, whether it’s 30, 60, or 90 days. It’s best to contact the retailer or manufacturer directly if you’re uncertain. However, those with home warranty plans will be pleased to know that they can cancel them at any time.

Reputable home warranty companies don’t have hidden costs, but it is important to understand the structure of your agreement and home warranties in general before signing up for one. The most significant and predictable cost you’ll incur is the monthly price. In addition to that, you’ll have to pay the service fee—an average of $85—every time you need to call in a professional for a repair or replacement. The service fee is usually much less than the repair or replacement would otherwise cost, but it’s worth considering in your total.

The average cost of a home warranty is around $55 per month, but you could pay anywhere from $30 to $125 or more, depending on a few factors. Some of the most significant cost factors include the following:

  • Contract service fee

  • Items covered by your contract

  • Coverage caps in your contract

  • Whether or not you can choose your own service technician

  • Home’s location

  • Contract length

  • Any coverage add-ons

Yes, most manufacturers and contractors offer warranties for materials and labor. Confirm terms before purchasing.

Homeowners insurance usually doesn’t cover foundation cracks. They are considered normal wear and tear that every home undergoes. Your foundation in general is likely covered for things like fire and water damage, but most companies don’t insure damage caused by settling, shifting soil, earthquakes, and floods, which commonly lead to foundation cracks.
