Customers say: Quality work

"Everything went well except that when the electrician installed a junction box (strangely, there wasn't one before), a large crack developed in the mirror. He stopped work immediately, called the issue to my attention and reported the problem to his boss. Streamline Electric called me promptly with assurances that they would have the mirror replaced. They were true to their word and, in fact, followed up with me several times to assure that the replacement was scheduled by the mirror company and then made sure that the electrician was present when the new mirror was installed so that he could finish the electrical work. Streamline gets the highest rating from me for outstanding customer service! Their professionalism and the quality of their electrical work was equally impressive as their customer service. I would use them again without hesitation and recommend them highly."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

For families in Chelsea, install tamper-resistant outlets and AFCI breakers to reduce shock and fire risks. Use outlet covers, manage cords to keep them out of reach, and elevate wiring away from pets. Secure outdoor electrical equipment and consider motion sensor lighting and emergency backup lights for safety during outages. Adding smart switches and USB outlets can also make your home more convenient and secure.

Helpful?

In Chelsea, basements and crawl spaces often require attention due to high moisture and groundwater. Outdoor outlets and fixtures can suffer from freeze-thaw cycles, while attics and garages face temperature extremes. Kitchens and bathrooms, with frequent appliance use and humidity, may need regular GFCI outlet checks. Historic homes in Chelsea often need main panel upgrades and rewiring as electrical systems age.

Helpful?

After finishing electrical projects in Chelsea, schedule a city inspection to confirm code compliance and keep all permits and inspection documents. Notify your insurance provider about any upgrades for proper coverage. Test GFCI outlets annually, check for storm-related electrical damage after severe weather, and service your generator before winter. These steps help maintain electrical safety and system reliability year-round.

Helpful?

As a new homeowner in Chelsea, start by having your electrical panel evaluated for capacity and safety, especially if your home is older. Upgrade to GFCI outlets in kitchens, bathrooms, and basements to boost electrical safety. Install hardwired smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, and weatherproof outdoor outlets. Preparing for generator hookup is wise, as Chelsea’s winter storms can cause outages and moisture-related electrical issues.

Helpful?

In Chelsea, signs that you need electrical updates include flickering lights during storms, frequent breaker trips, or unusual odors near outlets. After harsh winters or heavy spring rains, check for moisture damage in basements and around outdoor outlets. If your home has outdated wiring like knob-and-tube or aluminum, or was built before 1970, it’s time to consider a panel upgrade for safety and reliability.
