"The electrician showed up 10 minutes late but called ahead to warn us of that. He fairly quickly was able to trouble-shoot what our problem was and fix it. He was barely here for an hour."

"The two guys that came to my home called to let me know they were running late. When they got here they quickly went to work. They were able to clean our gutters in half an hour . They cleaned up everything afterwards. They were very friendly . They also told us of other services they do like Christmas lights. Sounds great. Highly recommend Window Genie!"

"Rob did a GREAT job. So happy we have used them for our holiday lighting, gutter cleaning, window washing, and exterior house cleaning. Watching the algae disappear from the siding was magical! Windows have never been so sparking clean. Professional, integrity, honest and fair pricing. I highly recommend!!"

"Andy and I hit it off instantly, he's a very intelligent, knowledgeable and personable guy. A drainage issue at the front of our home was complicated by several factors and Andy came up with logical solutions at a fair price. Andy and his assistant, Russ, worked well together and did a very professional job, on time and exactly as we requested. Their efforts greatly enhanced the curb appeal of our home and I look forward to working with them in the future."

Lighting questions, answered by experts

One possibility is that they aren’t getting enough sunlight during the day, which could be due to a lack of sunshine in your area or trees blocking the solar panel. Alternatively, if the solar panel is dirty or the batteries are dying, your solar lights might not operate at full brightness.

The lifespan of a pool light depends on the type, but thankfully, these lights are designed to last a long time before they need to be replaced. LED bulbs last the longest, about 20,000 to 30,000 hours, while incandescent bulbs last the shortest amount of time, about 1,000 to 5,000 hours. Fiber optic pool lights will last around 6,000 hours.

If you need to visually inspect your Christmas lights to determine which are good and which need replacement, there are a few things to look for. First, look for discoloration, such as a dark spot or two on the inside of the glass. The spot is an indication of a burnt filament. Also, look for missing filaments, cracked bulb glass, and broken sockets.

Yes, animals can trigger motion-sensor lights. In fact, this is a reason why some homeowners install motion-sensor lights, to catch sneaky little critters looking through the rubbish for a midnight snack. There are sensitivities to animal detection though, so you may want to look for an option that avoids animal detection as much as possible.

If you’ve gone through the troubleshooting checklist for your motion detector flood light and it’s still not working, it’s time to consider a new one. Older models that need frequent fixes can be unreliable. Newer flood lights feature advanced technology that improves your lights’ sensitivity and overall performance. If you’re fed up with unexpected darkness, investing in a new light can give you the lighting you need to feel secure.
