I hired this company because of the good reviews, but I had a terrible (and weird) experience. Here’s the short version: If you want to overpay for bad quality service and then have them actively duck your calls and avoid you when asked for accountability, Westborn Electric is the company for you. In February, I hired this company to complete the electrical work for a city inspection. The service was very expensive, but I hired them because of their guaranteed quality work. I’m an amenable customer, and really I just wanted the job done right. Among the work they completed, I had them replace the wired interconnected smoke alarms in the home, which they purchased and installed. Shortly after, the alarms began malfunctioning creating false alarms nearly every day (very disruptive and unsafe). When I called the company to have them come out to look at them given the guarantee of their work, they allegedly did so, but they never followed up to explain what issues they had found. I called this company over 10 times asking if someone could please call me back to understand if they had found an issue or what the next steps were. I never received a call back. The weirdest part is when the unhelpful receptionist would actually answer my calls, she would apologize profusely promise “I’ll have the electrician call you today.” This led to more confusion on my part as I expected every day they would call back, but they never would. I really would have preferred they told me they were unavailable for the job so I could stop wasting my time. Again, I called for almost two weeks straight, left many voicemails, and even spoke with the receptionist who promised someone would return my call. No call back. In totality, this was a VERY expensive project I hired them to do. On top of that, the fix was relatively simple, but they chose to duck my calls instead. A simple civil conversation would have been nice. The job was not done right and the company was unwilling to take responsibility in order to remediate the issue. Finally, I hired someone else to come fix the issue. The electrician I hired confirmed the smoke alarms they had sold me and installed were indeed defective. This company is definitely an “AVOID AT ALL COSTS” story I’ll be telling for a while.

First off, everything Westborn electric did is on camera from my home security system. I will never recommend Westborn electric or do business with this place ever again. Extremely rude head electrician along with the owner, Mark. I was told by the owner “He’s moving the pump out of the way and trying to extend it around the pool” in a text after the owner yelled at me on the phone when I have every right to know what is going on in my yard. The pump is not close enough to the box because the short fuse guy goes- I’m not moving the pump! The whole point for this visit was to get the pool running and pass. The head electrician didn’t move the pump at all and the pole they installed- they didn’t even cement down. It wobbles all over the place. Not safe when u have a ton of kids. Just because u r having a bad day and have 30 years in the business- so what- doesn’t mean u take it out on your customers. I did nothing wrong. I offered them water and tried to make sure we were all on the same page which we were not. I never received a written estimate either of exactly what was going to be done, just verbal. The head electrician has a short fuse- not my fault and so what- u do not treat your customers this way and the owner knows he has a short fuse and sent him to my house anyway - why should I have to deal with him? I was nothing but polite to the owner when I met him and to his workers until this head electrician got an attitude - maybe he doesn’t like his job and maybe should not be sent out to do work for the owner regardless of why!!! The inspector said the pole had to be moved 6 feet away from pool. He moves it 5 feet and a little he said. When I called the owner he blocked me because I was telling him how his worker was acting. Very unprofessional and very rude company and an extremely sloppy job and not done according to what the owner texted to me would be done at all. Then the head electrical was like ugh when I asked him to put paid in full instead of just paid on the receipt then started yelling at me to hurry up because they were late. Completely unfair and ridiculous!

Christian and Matthew were very knowledgeable, courteous and professional. They were quick to diagnose the problem areas and were able to correct both problems quickly and effectively. I would definitely recommend this company and will use them again should any need arise!!

Excellent -- work done efficiently, as planned, and at a fair price

Excellent company. No electrical company from Monroe County, Michigan, would return my call. Westborn came from Dearborn Heights to my home in Newport, Michigan. Wonderful electricians. Worth every dime of the $165.00 they charged.

We chose Westborn for three reasons: 1. We've previously had good experiences with them. 2. Their quote was competitive with others we received. 3. Their schedule was competitive as well. We were not disappointed. Christian came out to do the work. He was prompt, courteous, professional, and fast. He did an excellent job and even found a way to make it all work despite the complexity of an older house. We are very happy. Thanks, Westborn!

It went very well very professional

All the work completed was excellent. I had them do several projects over the course of 3 days, and all the workers who were present were helpful and polite. They made it a point to clean up each day and were conscientious about checking in to make sure that the projects being completed met my expectations throughout the process. Will 100% hire again for future work.

They did a very good job in a very reasonable amount of time

Excellent! Evaluation and estimate were completed within the week and work completed five days later. Good and fair price. Work was professional, efficient and the electricians who evaluated and performed the work showed and explained what they were doing. Happy to recommend them and hire them again if needed.

Excellent work by Anthony and Reid on Jan 24, 2020. Problem with circuit breaker was quickly and honestly diagnosed and resolved. Fixture and switch installed cleanly and quickly. All work was completed in less than 30 minutes. Cost was very reasonable.

Experience was good

I cannot have been happier with the great professional service we had from everyone at Westborn Electric! They were wonderful to work with. They did extensive work of the house we sold last summer and on the new home we bought as well. Some of the best contractors I ever hired. Would hire them again, for sure.

The job went very well. I was called when the fellows were on their way to my home and they arrived at the estimated time I had arranged in my phone call to make the appointment. The fellows went right to work and completed the job in a short time. They were friendly, yet professional, and wanted to make sure that the light worked and I was satisfied before they left. A few days later I received a Thank You card in the mail, along with a card for 10% off labor on the next job I call for.

Horrific interaction. Weatborn referred to Osburn Services and refused to return a call despite multiple phone calls where I was promised a return call. Osburn did not complete installation as was verbally described and cut multiple corners to complete job quickly but poorly. Gas leak was reported but they did not resolve for 3 days, an obvious safety issue. Strongly recommend to avoid both companies as they are clearly after quick revenue with no regard to customer satisfaction. Will never do business with either company again.

They fit me right in since our panel could of started a fire. Both guys that came out was very polite, clean up area and did a great job!

Cody from Westborn did an outstanding job upgrading our panel. The job included all wiring from the connection at the house through to the basement and into the panel. The quality was very high and we are very satisfied with the end result.
