"Bathworks did a great job installing our new soaker tub and shower. We love that the crew asked us on our preferred placement of fixtures throughout the process and they were in and out within one day! The customer support team is there in case of any issues, although we did not have any. We love our upgraded tub and use it all the time! Would highly recommend Bathworks."

"The process was easy to schedule & finance, had to wait a little while to get all the pieces to schedule the job but seeing the pieces were all custom made it was expected. Installers Eric & Bob did a nice job working with us during the installation process including a few modification changes. Work completed in a timely manner. We're very happy pleased with our new shower!"

"The installation crew was very professional and kept me updated with the progress of the completed work. Completed work included: Installation, City inspection and approval, Electrician for the dedicated line for the sump pump and finished with concrete. I was responsible for having the plumber come in to disconnect and reinstall hot water tank and laundry tub. Quite a big job that went very smoothly."

"Bath Fitters end product was fine...but had to comeback for a full second day to redo shower walls not installed quite right. No extra charge but took a day out of my life. I am pleased with the final result"

Plumbing questions, answered by experts

Avoid contractors who pressure you to skip required plumbing inspections or fail to include mandatory local permits in their quotes. In MI, unlicensed professionals present a significant risk. Reject bids that ignore septic system connections or well pressure systems, as this indicates a lack of rural infrastructure knowledge. Watch out for vague scopes of work that fail to address the necessary replacement of outdated cast iron or galvanized pipes.

Helpful?

Secure all open septic risers and access lids immediately to protect children and pets from falling hazards. Keep family members away from crawl spaces during plumbing work to avoid exposure to disturbed mold and pests. For older Brooklyn homes, ask professionals to identify and replace any lead service lines. Ensure contractors install anti-scald mixing valves set to 120 degrees Fahrenheit or below to prevent severe burns in showers and tubs.

Helpful?

Hidden expenses during plumbing projects stem from unearthing outdated materials. Older Brooklyn homes conceal corroded galvanized steel, deteriorated cast iron, or polybutylene pipes requiring full replacement. Opening walls exposes failing septic lines or aging well pressure tanks that demand immediate upgrades. In seasonal properties, turning on the water in spring exposes cracked fittings and split pipes from winter freeze damage. Mandatory permit fees and required re-inspections also add unexpected expenses.

Helpful?

Errors during plumbing work create severe hazards. Improperly insulated pipes in crawl spaces remain highly vulnerable to bursting during sustained freezing temperatures across MI. Drain line connections to septic systems are extremely sensitive to incorrect slope, leading to severe backups. Mistakes in well water connections compromise drinking water safety and cause pressure loss. Furthermore, skipping backflow preventers on irrigation systems creates significant water safety hazards for properties near local lakes.

Helpful?

Cosmetic plumbing tasks, like swapping faucet handles, require no permits and allow for straightforward homeowner updates. Functional plumbing work, such as replacing water lines, requires local permits and inspections. Upgrading fixtures in Brooklyn seasonal homes uncovers underlying functional issues, including corroded pipes from freeze cycles or mineral scaling from well water. Replacing fixtures also risks disturbing well pressure systems, turning aesthetic updates into necessary functional repairs.
