"Scott did an excellent job for us. We needed an EV charger installed and a few other things done. He came by, sized up the job and gave us an estimate. In a few days he showed up ready work. He installed the EV charger, re[laced 4 thrmostats, and fixed a doorbell. All went well. His price was reasonable. He worked quickly and efficiently and got everytjing right the first time. I highly recommenr Moses Electric and would glady hire Scott for future electrical jobs."

"Very communicative. Got me on the schedule same day. Quoted real time and were able to do the work in the same visit. Lots of confirmation checks along the way. Would use again."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

In Wells, habits like leaving outdoor extension cords exposed to salt air, failing to check weatherproof covers on exterior outlets, and running dehumidifiers infrequently in damp basements can all speed up electrical wear. Overusing space heaters or window AC units on older circuits is common during peak seasons and can strain wiring. Regularly inspecting outdoor lighting and replacing corroded fixtures helps extend system life.

Helpful?

In Wells, homeowners are increasingly adding whole-house generators for storm preparedness, smart home features like WiFi-enabled switches, and expanded outdoor lighting for both safety and aesthetics. Marine-grade, weather-resistant fixtures are popular for coastal durability. There’s rising interest in EV charging stations, USB-integrated outlets, and upgrading to 200-amp panels to support modern appliances in both primary and vacation homes.

Helpful?

Electrical project timelines in Wells vary by complexity and season. Simple upgrades like installing new outlets or outdoor lighting usually take less than a day. Electrical panel upgrades often require 1-2 days, factoring in local permit processing. Full home rewiring may take up to a week. During summer, high demand and permit wait times can extend scheduling by several weeks, especially for larger projects.

Helpful?

If you encounter minor electrical issues in Wells, first reset GFCI outlets in kitchens, bathrooms, and outdoor areas, especially after coastal storms. Check for signs of salt corrosion on outdoor lighting or plugs, and unplug any device with a damaged cord. For homes near the ocean, inspect weatherproof covers regularly. If you notice persistent flickering or moisture near wiring, contact a licensed electrician promptly.

Helpful?

Schedule electrical work in Wells if your home’s wiring is original from the mid-20th century, you see rust or corrosion on exterior outlets, or you’re preparing for seasonal rentals. After heavy storms or before installing new appliances like EV chargers, an inspection is wise. Annual electrical maintenance is recommended due to the coastal climate, with spring and fall being ideal times to book service.
