"Bob's company was able to trouble shoot a number of pesky electrical problems we had with fans and lighting. I am very pleased with the outcome. Even though I wasn't on-site during the work, good communication of the issues and progress."

"It went very smoothly. I recently purchased a big, old house that needs lots of attention. I found Marty to be considerate and informative. He performs his work competently, efficiently and his prices are very reasonable. I certainly plan to request his electrical services again in the future."

Customers say: True professional

"Scott did an excellent job for us. We needed an EV charger installed and a few other things done. He came by, sized up the job and gave us an estimate. In a few days he showed up ready work. He installed the EV charger, re[laced 4 thrmostats, and fixed a doorbell. All went well. His price was reasonable. He worked quickly and efficiently and got everytjing right the first time. I highly recommenr Moses Electric and would glady hire Scott for future electrical jobs."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

Completing electrical projects in Dover can significantly enhance your home’s value and resale appeal. Upgrades such as electrical panel improvements, GFCI outlets, and smart home systems are especially attractive to buyers, given Dover’s blend of historic and newer homes. These improvements not only boost safety and energy efficiency but also help your property align with current building codes, making it more marketable and potentially lowering insurance premiums.

Helpful?

When hiring electrical professionals in Dover, prioritize those with experience in both historic and modern home wiring. Confirm they carry proper insurance and understand Dover’s permitting and inspection requirements. Request references from recent local projects and ensure they’re knowledgeable about energy-efficient upgrades and solutions for coastal weather. Avoid contractors lacking local references or those who only accept cash payments, as this can indicate unprofessional practices.

Helpful?

In Dover, kitchens, bathrooms, and basements often require electrical upgrades due to moisture exposure and evolving code requirements. Older homes may need panel replacements and rewiring to support modern appliances. Outdoor outlets and heating system components frequently need attention because of Dover’s changing weather. Regularly checking generator connections and scheduling seasonal inspections can help keep your home’s electrical systems safe and efficient year-round.

Helpful?

The longevity of electrical work in Dover depends on high-quality installation, the use of durable materials, and regular maintenance. Choosing copper wiring, weather-resistant outlets, and surge protection helps systems withstand local conditions. Unlike other areas, Dover’s coastal climate means salt air and humidity can accelerate wear, so selecting moisture-resistant components and scheduling periodic inspections are essential for lasting, reliable electrical performance.

Helpful?

To make electrical projects safer for families in Dover, install tamper-resistant outlets and GFCI protection in kitchens, bathrooms, and outdoor areas. Secure your electrical panel with a lockable cover and consider built-in USB outlets to reduce cord clutter. For pet safety, elevate outlets and use conduit to protect exposed wiring. Adding surge protection and generator hookups also helps keep your home safe during Dover’s frequent storms.
