"WB Lightning Rods did an excellent job installing lightening rods on our home. The owner stayed onsite the entire time to supervise the work. He took extra care to plan the rod and cable placement to ensure the proper protection and retain the aesthetics of our home. His crew were knowledgeable, polite, neat and efficient. We could not be more pleased with the results."

"I used their remote service. The technician was good. The only problem was that you coul not schedule a time. You had to wait in a cue which could take a few minutes or hours. It could be difficult to work around their cue system if you have a busy schedule."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

When planning electrical work in Milo, factor in permit requirements, inspection timelines, and the impact of seasonal weather. Many homes rely on electric heating and well pumps, so a reliable electrical system is essential. Milo’s rural location can mean longer wait times for contractors, especially in winter, so plan ahead and consider available energy efficiency rebates for upgrades.

Helpful?

In Milo, urgent electrical issues like persistent flickering during storms, burning odors, sparking outlets, or repeated breaker trips should be addressed right away to protect your home and safety. Less critical upgrades, such as installing LED lighting or adding new outlets, can be scheduled for later. Prioritizing repairs is especially important in Milo due to harsh winters and limited contractor availability.

Helpful?

In Milo, be wary of quotes that are unusually low, lack clear details about materials, or come from professionals unwilling to provide references or written guarantees. Avoid contractors who pressure you for immediate cash payments or solicit door-to-door. It’s important to choose a reputable provider who uses quality materials and offers emergency contact information for follow-up needs in rural areas.

Helpful?

In Milo, signs like intermittent flickering, dimming lights, or frequent breaker trips may indicate worsening connections or overloaded circuits, which are risky in extreme temperatures. Mild burning smells, moisture from freeze-thaw cycles, or evidence of rodent damage can quickly escalate. If you notice repeated small repairs, it’s a sign your home’s electrical system may need a comprehensive upgrade.

Helpful?

In Milo, start spring by checking for winter-related damage, testing outdoor outlets, and inspecting your electrical panel. During summer, review air conditioning loads and outdoor lighting. In fall, prepare heating systems and seal outdoor connections. Winter is the time to monitor for moisture in panels and ensure backup power is ready. Year-round, test GFCIs and watch for repeated breaker trips.
