Small jobs welcome

"We needed help with a redesign of an older powder room with laundry. We were switching to stackables and installing a shower beside them. High Quality Electric came up with a plan and a design, and did a great job helping us with our vision. We are very happy with the finished product, And the whole process. We highly recommend High Quality Elecyric and will definitely be hiring them again for future projects which we already have in mind. ð"

"Those guys just terrific! They installed a whole house generator. It was a very hard installation, because the generator was far away from the electrical source. They have also followed recurring maintenance."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

Automatic gates don’t use too much electricity, and you should see a minimal effect on your utility bill. In fact, certain gate systems are entirely self-sufficient and rely on solar panels attached to or near the gate to power the motor. While a gate is large and there is a powerful motor moving it, it’s not something that sees constant use throughout the day. For most automatic gates, expect to see a utility bill increase of only around $10 per month.

To ensure batteries stop charging when they’re full, you’ll need to install a charge controller that determines when the battery is full. Once the battery is fully charged, the charge controller will stop the energy flow or divert the energy to the grid or other appliances. Without a charge controller, the battery may continue to charge, which can lead to less productivity and potential damage.

Unfortunately, a partial power outage without a tripped breaker often means you have a major wiring issue or that the breaker itself is going bad. When the power is out in one room but the breaker is not tripped, you need to call an electrician as soon as possible to identify the cause of the problem and repair it.

Christmas lights typically do not need to be grounded like electrical circuits in your home do. However, it's crucial to use outdoor outlets equipped with ground fault circuit interrupters (GFCIs) for added safety. GFCIs can help protect against electrical shocks and are recommended for outdoor electrical connections when using Christmas lights.

Whether or not a pool needs a dedicated circuit depends on the electrical needs of the motor, lights, and pump. Keep in mind that pool motors can use a lot of electricity. A dedicated circuit can prevent the breaker from tripping whenever you use the pool. A small motor for an equally small pool may only need a GFCI outlet. It’s best to plug it directly into the outlet rather than using an extension cord. You should also consult an electrician to ensure your pool’s electrical system is in accordance with local regulations.
