Small jobs welcome

"I highly recommend Kacena Site Work, without reservation. Darryl did an excellent job installing our new septic system under very difficult circumstances, and worked closely with the town to ensure all necessary permits were in place. He installed the new system at the end of winter, with snow still on the ground. He also had to deal with a lot of ledge, and an old low hanging tree when the tank was brought in and finally lowered into place. He returned early spring to regrade a large area of the yard and around the leach field, laying down fresh top soil, grass seed and fertilizer. His work was excellent and his pricing very fair. The final cost came in much lower than competitive bids. We could not be happier. Thank you Darryl!!"

"Found Cyr Septic and Management through Home Advisor. They were the only company I called even willing to come to our house. They came out that night at no additional charge to replace our septic pump. Very impressed with the honest workers and honest price. I would recommend them to anyone in the area and hire them again in a heartbeat!"

"They came out first to find the septic tank and then would have to come back with the pump truck to pump it. After utilizing the camera mechanism to locate the tank, we were advised that pumping wasn't really needed yet. They could easily have led us to believe it needed to be done, but they chose to be honest and save us the added cost. Honesty & integrity, i like that in a service provider!"

Septic Tanks questions, answered by experts

Several warning signs can indicate current or future issues with your well pressure tank. If you notice inconsistent water pressure, water spitting from your faucets, clicking sounds, or electricity bill spikes without other obvious causes, it may be time to get your pressure tank and well system looked at by a professional.

Needing to pump the tank as soon as it “looks” full is a common myth about septic systems, as wastewater will eventually drain into the leach field. Instead, it’s better to determine how many solids have accumulated. A septic maintenance technician near you can test this to find out whether pumping is necessary.

Most septic tanks can handle two to three loads of laundry per day, or a weekly total of between seven and 10 loads. Although septic systems do require homeowners to be somewhat careful with their plumbing systems—for instance, it’s not a good idea to flush a bunch of toilet paper all at once—they can still handle fairly heavy use.

A septic smell may be harmful because sewer gas is dangerous depending on the exposure amount and length of time. Sewer gas is made up of multiple gases, including hydrogen sulfide, methane, ammonia, and carbon dioxide. Some of these gases, like hydrogen sulfide and ammonia, are toxic to humans and can be fatal in high concentrations or long exposures.

Septic drain fields should be at least 10 feet from the property line, though exact requirements vary by location. Some areas may require further distances, such as 25 feet or more, depending on soil conditions and local health regulations. This extension ensures proper wastewater absorption and prevents contamination of neighboring homes.
