"My technician Robert Santiago was friendly, helpful, and prompt. Made a very stressful situation bearable. He thoroughly examined my system and its layout, and explained where the clog was explained could be occurring. He even gave me a bit of a history lesson on plumbing in old houses like mine, and the kind of problems that people typically face with them. He also told me exactly what he was planning to do, what equipment would be used, and how it worked. Worked on the problem for a couple hours until he got results. Very persistent! Cleaned up and sanitized the worksite as well. Also made a few suggestions as to some diagnostic measures I should look into to make sure I don’t run into the problem again. I’m very grateful for Zoom’s help and would recommend them to others!"

"The tech that came out did an amazing job.  He was professional and through.  He arrived a few minutes later than expected but the office called at the expected arrival time to say he was running a few minutes late and he arrived when they said.  The tech worked from 9:30am through 5:30pm with no breaks.  I ordered pizza late afternoon but he politely declined and kept working.
While waiting for the chlorination in the pipes to wash out he went to all my sinks and cleaned out the sediment traps.  He also thoroughly explained how all the systems work and what any alarms might mean.
When I was quoted on the water softener it was for a Repco Aquabubble 6AB system and when they came to install they installed a superior 3M system for the same price.  The tech explained normally the 3M system was a couple hundred more.  He also explained this water softener is more efficient and uses half the salt over the course of the year.
I would definitely recommend Absolute Water System.  Dona in the office was easy to work with and patient with all of my questions.  She even took the time to put together a quote for what the yearly maintenance costs for each unit will cost as well as their fees to come out.  I had a lot of questions initially and even more once I did more research and she was great and answering everything.  Several questions she needed to reach out to the owner of the company but emailed me back within 24 hours.
Based on the research and quotes I received, Absolute saved me over a $1100 over the 4 other companies that quoted me.

Drain Cleaning questions, answered by experts

If methods like hot water or a plunger don’t work on your clogged drain, you can snake your drain to dislodge the plug. This can be a messy process, taking some physical effort and additional time over the other drain-clearing options. You can purchase a drain snake at a hardware store and choose from handheld options or those attached to a drill. Just work slowly, and be ready to call a plumber if you’re unable to reach the clog from your drain or P-trap.

A clogged air gap can cause a dishwasher not to drain. There are, however, other potential issues that can lead to improper drainage. For example, if you have attached the air gap to a garbage disposal and forgotten to remove the knockout plug, wastewater may backflow into the dishwasher. Check that the air gap is installed properly, and then look for clogs in the air gap and dishwasher filters.

Coke and other sodas do clean a clogged drain, so this is one of those urban myths that has some truth behind it. Coke and similar sodas are caustic and will provide some cleaning power to your drains. However, the power of soda pales in comparison to dedicated cleaners or even baking soda.

Most commercial liquid drain cleaners work in 15 to 30 minutes. Consult the label on the bottle for additional instructions or time suggestions to prevent damage to your drainpipes. Alternative solutions such as baking soda, salt, white vinegar, and/or boiling water can take longer since they are less harsh than liquid drain cleaners.

It’s sometimes difficult to distinguish a clog from a frozen drainpipe since ice technically causes a clog. If the temperature doesn’t tip you off, there are a few additional signs that your pipe is frozen. Look for condensation and frost around the pipes. Ice in pipes can cause a banging or clanking noise as opposed to a clog from a softer material.
