"I couldn’t be more pleased with the work Christian and Wilderness Woodworking & Construction did in refinishing my basement. From start to finish, the entire process was smooth, professional, and exceeded my expectations. They were punctual, detail-oriented, and truly took the time to understand my vision for the space. The quality of the craftsmanship is top-notch, and my basement has transformed into a beautiful, functional area that has completely changed the feel of my home. They handled everything from design to execution with great care, and the project was completed on time and within my budget. Communication was excellent throughout, with updates on progress and any necessary adjustments. I truly appreciate how they went above and beyond to ensure everything was done right. Finding reliable and quality craftsman these days is getting increasingly more difficult - I highly recommend Christian and his team to anyone looking for reliable, skilled professionals who take pride in their work. I’m so happy with the results!"

"Basically everything went pretty well during the construction of the apartment and we gave him an excellent review.  Now, six months later we are having a problem with some electrical outlets that were installed by a subcontractor, Bear Hill electric, and after sending him an email about the issue, he will not reply to the email or answer our phone messages.  If a company can not follow through with a return email or phone call for whatever reason, they are not worth hiring and can not be recommended.

It went extremely well.  The work took two days to complete.  It was don in a professional manner, on-time and as requested.  They even finished any work which was left undone on the floor installation.  Floor installation was not completely finished because the supplier failed to provide the all the items as ordered.  This slight delay was NOT the fault of Castonguay and Son but the supplier.

Would be happy to use them again.  They do Kitchen and Bath remodeling, drywall construction/installation, cabinet refinishing/installation and other building tasks.  Recommend them to all.

Greenhouses and Nurseries questions, answered by experts

Adding burnt charcoal to your garden beds and plant pots can yield several benefits, but there are risks involved, too. Charcoal, particularly biochar, can enhance soil structure, improve water drainage, and increase nutrient retention. When activated, charcoal provides key nutrients like nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium. However, burnt charcoal, especially from briquettes, can inadvertently alter soil's pH levels and become hazardous to plants. Overall, there are better and less risky soil amendments available, such as vermiculite, perlite, or wood chips.

The quickest way you can protect plants and trees from frost is to cover them with garden blankets or frost cloths. Also, bringing potted plants or trees indoors is much simpler than trying to cover and protect them outdoors. Remember to anchor blankets with something such as sandbags, fabric pins, or rocks if the forecast calls for strong winds to keep them from blowing away and exposing your trees and plants.

In most cases, wait three to five days to repot or relocate a plant from a greenhouse or nursery. That way, your plant has time to recover from any shock during the move and adapt to the conditions in and around your home. Some hearty plants may not need as long, and delicate plants might need several weeks. You should ask the professional at your nursery for a recommended timeline. Consider asking about an initial watering schedule to help stimulate root growth and promote a healthy plant.

Eco-friendly materials include sustainably-sourced woods, recycled metals, low-VOC paints, and non-toxic sealants, which reduce environmental impact. Using these in repairs promotes sustainability and can improve indoor air quality and overall building health.

Minor fixes like patching leaks or repainting are DIY-friendly, but structural repairs require professional expertise.
